If Darwin was right and all life forms evolve to survive then what better survival mechanism could there be than higher intelligence? The ability to create weapons and tools. Linear thinking. Cognitive though.
Why only humans?
What are the physical differences in our brains compared to chimpanzees or apes that give us this intelligence, imagination, creativeness, spoken language???????
Is it programmed into our DNA?
What is your theory Shaptown?

Evolution acts on the population not on the individual. So, it may support the notion that an individual with higher intelligence has greater capability to survive and propagate its gametes into the subsequent generation. There are however, other niches via which an organism can capitalize on sequestration of available resources in the environment.

Homo sapiens exhibited higher intelligence from the first appearance of the species over 200,000 years ago. How did such a young species develop this super survival and adaptation tool so fast when other animals species such as chimpanzees have existed for more than 6 million years and share 99+% of their DNA with humans?
