Should I change my split?

I currently do a 3 day split as follows....

Tue - Chest & Tri's

Thu - Back & Biceps

Sat - Shoulders & Legs

I was considering adding a 4th day training legs monday and training both biceps and triceps after shoulders.

What do you think?

Im also concerned I aren't hitting my bi's and tri's enough, but I probably am through heavy chest and back work. After a heavy chest or back workout what excercises do you recommend for these small muscle groups?

Thanks.

that is just the same split i am using now and i have to say it is the best one for me. i am really starting to notice i am putting on alot more mass since i went to this split. i personally think it is hitting all the body parts just right and still allows for plenty of rest which is most important for the muscle growth!

pretty much the same split as me except i throw shoulders in with chest and tri's. after my leg workout i can barely walk let alone do shoulders.

anyway, i asked the same question a while back and the concensus was that doing tri's after heavy chest and bi's after heavy back is MORE than enough for those tiny lil muscles. any more might be overtraing

why doy uyo feel you arent doing enough for bis' and tris?

theres nothing wrong with hitting some close grips after doing bench..it will aid the bench..yes obviously you wont be able to use the same weight if you came in fresh and were to start with CG's.

always stick with basic heavy movments for everything..after back do some sort of curl either BB, preacher or DB..biceps are simple flex the elbow thats it.... no secret to it

Blackbeard, as many people have said they are getting pounded from the chest back workouts so I know I shouldn't worry. I used to train one bodypart a day thats all so it's quite a change for me, now doing 90 min workouts.

I should go by the scales feedback, the weight is piling on at quite a rate!

again, i was doing the same as you and doing five day workouts, training only one body part per day...then switched up to the 3 day split same as yours and i swear it's like night and day how much more mass is coming on with the three day split and all of the rest time, yeah it makes the workout sessions go to about an hour and forty-five minutes but well worth it for the gains seen. also another thing that has really helped is the 5x5 routine...for me the gains in strength are really coming on with it.
