Should testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) be "cycled" or not?

Should TRT be "cycled" or not?

So I am about a month into testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and still working on tuning Testosterone (working with a good doc!). I recently received a phone call from one of the "competing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) companies" I spoke with when originally getting started. Their protocol is, more or less, 10 week cycles with 4 week pcts. The Rep explained to me that it is absolutely necessary to start testosterone with an anti E then after the 10 weeks on 200 per week you must go through a period of "restarting" your natural system with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and Clomid. He also explained this was the only way to keep your thyroid operating correctly and producing other hormones your body needs. He also said that it doesn't do much good to use Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) during Testosterone use as the T just shuts the system right back off. The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is only a mimic so it is important to regularly restart your own thyroid to establish your own LH and FSH. Seems reasonable to me but pretty sure that is not my Docs protocol nor do I see any references to this protocol on any of the forums I read. Can someone clear up these conflicting views for me????

Hes a moron. He is just after your money. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) will keep the boys going throughout. No you dont cycle testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) its for life.

Agreed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is for life. Every time you "cycled" off you run a good chance of depression and all the other symptoms of low T

I'm confused...so low doses of test which's what testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is all about is for life and with no post cycle therapy (pct) or cycling off Plus you can run Chances of depression but on a high dose test on a normal "cycle" can be cycled off and with proper post cycle therapy (pct) everything goes back to normal post cycle?

Thats how you "TRT" without needing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). basically its for people that want to run cycles under the guise of TRT.

So why not a post cycle therapy (pct) if running a cycle under a guise of "TRT " This is where I get lost :-/

Thats what im saying. you DONT need a post cycle therapy (pct) with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). That clinic runs cycles for people that dont need testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but say they do so they can get pharm grade test legally. Thats the reason they do a post cycle therapy (pct).

That makes sense. I can see why they'd do that.

Some doctors advocate coming off in order to avoid polycythemia but that is the only reason.
