Shoulder Issue

Ok been training pretty hard lately I have having a bit of shoulder pain. Its in a weird spot. Back of the shoulder by the bone. It hurts no matter what movement i am doing. its a dull pain but hurts.

I had to stop doing shoulders today and hurts when i bench. Also hurts when I turn the wheel of my car. Any clues?

UGH. I really hope its not the rotator. I have had issues with my collar bone in the past shoulders have always been really strong never had any rotator issues and have not changed anything.

your probably ok. maybe give it a rest for a while. as far as rotator cuff goes, supraspinatus is usually the one that goes. it is the weak link in the shoulder it seems. i take it you did not here or feel a pop. that would be a good thing.

Yah no Pop. I kill my shoulder to. Biggest part on my body. I am Military pressing 225.. I tried to work thru some of the pain today but thought i better just stop. I will give it a few days rest but I am sure the meat head in me will kick in.. UGH. Thanks Tman.... Any sort of stretch movements I can do? Or should I just take some meds

I am no doctor and I am not pretending to give any medically sound advice...

But I would give it a rest period...no stretching and no stressing.

Keep eating well...as you know protein will help recuperate damaged tissue

What you can do is: daily wrapping a warm (not too hot obviously) towel around it or point a special "warmth lamp" (you know...with the red ligtbulb?). While you do that roll your shoulder slowely (so the shoulder does not cramp up).

Do that until you experience no pain when you steer the wheel.

That helped for me...

Once you start training again go slow...

As far as I know there are no meds that can repair it...only meds that can ease the pain.

P.S. English is not my first language...so appologies for spelling and grammar errors etc.

Thanks TPH.

I did some pushups to see if I experienced any pain and nothing. Does that help pin point what it may be?

Keep blood in the area. Its going to hurt but just keep moving it. Thats what I do when I injure my shoulder. I play baseball and pitch, thats what helps me most.

Also I dont want to get into your habits lol so I dont know if you sleep with clothes on or what, but I have found if you take a sweat shirt and sleep with it at night, you basically make your upper body sweat, BUT it keeps the blood there and it helps to make everything feel better.

I get too hot when I do that so I take a sweater, cut around the midsection, and just keep the pecs and shoulders covered.

Its always worked for me, hope that helps.

i have the exact same prob. it kills when i do upper chest flys. in the front and back and when i turn my steering wheel. i was told its the rotater cuff. I put ice on it, 20 min on, 20 min off as often as i can. its starting to feel better. but hurt like a bitch!

stretching it is a great thing to do to keep that blood flow through the area. just hanging from a pull-up bar will stretch it a lot and is a good range of motion. i wouldn't hang all your body weight on it, i would keep your feet on something and just put some weight on it. you were saying you really hammer your shoulders, have you lost much flexibility in your upper body?

LOL, everyone has different advice. I had something similar, everyone said it was nothing and turns out it was tendonitis and a torn lining. I needed surgery, no amount of rest or stretching would have worked. When it comes to injuries, I dont screw around. I dont have Ins right now either, but I found an income based place. Look online make some calls and get it checked. IMHO.
