I am in the middle of a cycle and my shoulder hurts at the spot where I linked the picture. I was benching fine with no pain and the next day the shoulder started hurting like crazy. Any advice out there?

what, where are you injecting?

Glutes 2x a week and injecting HCG in thighs 2x a week. I think I fucked something up lifting, but I have no idea how to heal it. I have 5 weeks of my cycle left and I am praying that this doesn't ruin it.

The shoulder is the most complicated joint in the body. Look at the range of motion. U may have pounded out a work and slept wrong. It s so many variables. I cannot bench 95 pds but can d bell press w 90 s ???!! w t h.

Give it a rest first off. Then warm up ; A LOT. If bench hurt s work around it. I go from the bar to 25 s 45 s , 165...up to 225 on incline s....
Lot going on in there.

Ive been having issues with it and even saw a doctor who says I wont need surgery. I have gotten advice frm other people on other forums that say to find a doctor that will do surgery on it. I dont see the point in doing surgery if I dont need it.

I bet your bench form is off. Allowing your elbows to extend beyond your back, or excessively flare out forces you to recruit your shoulders for an external rotation with weight they cannot support.

I'd honestly get someone to watch your presses and see if this is the case. I'd also spend the time building up the weakest link here; which will be your rotator cuffs. FAR too few do anything for the little supporting structures in the shoulders (they're what actually allow movement), which leads to an imbalance in strength over stability.

I promise that if you incorporate rotator exercises into your routine (I do db ones on shoulder day, cable on chest day), you will not only hurt far less - but you'll find that you can start going heavier and heavier. ;)

Op you didn't tell us what the doctor said other than you don't need surgery. AND how does he know this. Did he do x-rays and then if he doesn't see anything did he do an MRI. That's the ONLY way he is going to know.

As I have talked to halfwit and others my shoulder hurt so I had x-rays. I have osteoarthritis and bursitis so we did the x-ray then MRI. It turns out I have a partial tear.

Since then it is getting worse because I am lifting too heavy. Go back to the doc and get some pictures then he/ you will know what's truly going on. I'm not too smart if I keep lifting heavy.

Im going to take a break from bench press for the time being. I thought about the muscle imbalance being an issue as I saw on a youtube video that usually rear deltoids are under developed which tends to cause problems. Was thinking about doing face pulls. What rotator exercises would you recommend?

stand straight up, but relaxed, let your arms just hang straight down the sides. Do your thumbs point inward towards each other , or straight out?
If they point inwards towards each other you more then likely have a muscular imbalance where your anterior delts are much further developed then your posterior delts (probably from doing way more pushing exercises, like bench press, then you have been doing pulling exercises over the years). so yeah if thats the case work on those rear delts and leave the heavy presses alone for awhile.

NO Surgery

U can fix this.

U go to a mechanic he ll recommend u need work too. Doc s got mortgages, motives, child support too..

I tore my 2 layer ( there s four ) of muscle and opted out..rested it now work around anything that hurts.
So it s gonna neg affect this cycle ???!!! Build other stuff bro...shoulder surgeries are no fun. I m had 8 major surgeries 12 if u count b/s like scope s...don t get cut.

chriopractor will tell you you need an adjustment

acunpuncturist will tell you you need acupuncture

and a surgeon..

"yea you need to be cut open , so then your body can heal"

yea, what Too Tough says... THIS

I love face pulls! :)

YouTube has a ton of great examples; look under "rotator exercises" and see if you can't find the inverted front raise (thumb facing DOWN (much MUCH harder than you'd expect, so go light), external rotation (looks like your arm is bent 90 degrees with elbow to the side, thumb up and you push the weight away from you while keeping your elbow tucked in), and internal rotations (same bend, elbow is perpendicular to your body and you make a right turn signal with the fist. Go very light and stop if these hurt. ).

Just to give an idea as to the strength difference between rotator-centric exercises and standard ones; I have been doing these for a couple years now and have worked up to 20lbs. I do front and lateral raises with 60's, and that little 20lb dumbbell puts a hurting on me LOL. I get guys always snickering at me while I'm sweating and breathing heavy while on my fourth set of these, but that snicker goes away when they try a set. ;)

Hope that helps. :)

The face each other from the palms but they aren't pointed towards each other if that makes sense.

You should try deep tissue massage focusing just on your shoulder for about 5 sessions. I have shoulder pain in basically the same area and thats what my doctor recommended to me. I know there are alot of different types of shoulder injuries so my situation could be totally different then yours just figured maybe my advice might help.

Thanks I will try it out. I have been stretching the shoulder and it has been getting better,I doubt I will need surgery.

I am also going through the same problem. I have been having the pain for a while. I usually use a heating pad and it helps a lot. I also go to my chiropractor at Dynamic physiotherapy clinic every week which is nearby. I think you also should consult a good physiotherapist. They will better guide you and suggest you what to do in this concern.
