shoulder surgery anabolic advice

Hi,

I've recently had a shoulder separation injury. Was diagnosed with a 'level 3+' Both ligaments were completely damaged between clavicle (collar bone) and ac joint. The clavicle popped up and towards the back.

After meeting with many specialists I decided to go ahead with surgery. I am 28 and active. I want to be able to work out and do sports like I normally could.

I am not a hardcore bodybuilder at all but I do go to the gym and have done weight training and cardio. I've used some supplements like protien and creatine but was always against anabolic steroid use.

Its been 2 weeks since the surgery. The pain is still intense. My arm is in a sling for another 4 weeks and already my biceps, triceps and shoulder muscle are pretty much gone. its just blobber, feels like a water ballon. I have almost no movement in my shoulder muscles. This has been stressful and frustrating. My left shoulder looks like it shrank. So I am now looking into more effective supplements and possibly anabolic steroid use.

After doing some researching I've found that there are so many types and different side effects. I am not a big guy and don't want to gain too much mass. I just want to speed up the muscle development process, gain some lean muscle and lose the excess fat.

What types do you guys recommend for someone in my case?? and when is it safe to use? I heard some people use it during recovery? is that safe? Can it help tissue and ligament healing?

I am about 5,10 and weigh 75KG, recently gained 5 kg because ive been sitting around doing nothing.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Your input is much appreciated.

cheers

bro you really just need to rehab. Steroids will not heal shit. I understand your frustration but you have a long road ahead of you. The only thing I can see that you can do for your shoulder is rehab. Also dont sit on your ass...they make bike machines you know....work some of that fat off!

It's been a year since my shoulder surgery and i am still not ready for a cycle. I had a pretty minor surgery too. Don't push it man. Serious. Let time take it's place. Not what you want to hear I know. I was kinda upset when someone told me the same thing but honestly it's the smart thing to do. Do physical therapy. Start slow and don't push it. I'd probably wait at least a year before you consider anything. Get your diet in check. Spend your time on that cuz that will be important as you won't be active for a while.

I had arthiscopic surgery twice on my right shoulder and all I can say is you will have to take your time and let it heal. Nothing but possibly hgh is going to speed up recovery. Your muscle that Has shrunk will come back as Soon as you start using it again. It's gonna be painful for a long time so don't plan on exercising or throwing anything anytime soon.

I agree with the posts above. I have dislocated my left shoulder 6 times or so and my right once. I have never seperated either and I know this is worse. I had to take a LOT of time off in the gym to recover but I never had surgery and I know that speeds it up.

HGH may work for you but let it be known that you need 6 months to a year of 2-3iu EoD or 5 times a week for it to take effect ( there are a lot of cycling methods here but lets not talk about that). This will help but your not gonna be better in 2 months. The road to recovery is long and hard.

I would recover naturally or with hgh. You do not want to cycle in an AAS at this point; Maybe in 6 months.

I've had a level 3 seperation my friend and did not forgo surgery, as my which I considered a top sports medicine doc is on the roof, as the controversy surrounding the surgery, I rehabbed with him for 6 months, antibiotics to fight bacteria from my tear, and had it drained from fluid about 6 times, but it is fully healed with no real issues at all. Point is this is why I stayed away from the surgery as I know many other guys that had to get multiple surgeries for this and still shoulder is screwed, always get multiple advice. So I would go to a sports medicine doc see how he can help before I went back to my doc and he said lets go in again whew. Good luck bud

Thanks everyone for replying.

Its a real shame, i keep getting bad news. I'm usually a strong person and have been through a lot but this is really getting to me. I feel depressed, can't sleep more than a few hours at a time and don't like to socialize much. I need something positive that will help and willing to do anything.

I don't regret the surgery because the way my clavicle was positioned was never going to be the same. I just really hope the surgery was successful and I can go on living my life like I normally would.

I've been told that I could resume training after 3-6 months. obviously this will not be heavy workouts on the shoulder but specific exercises to help rehabilitate the shoulder.

There's got to be something I can do other than a careful diet. I've come across people who have used GH post surgery successfully. but again I don't know much about it. cycles etc.

Has anyone done this before after surgery? what were the results?

thanks again

i had surgery last january on my shoulder to remove 4 bone spurs, when they got in there,my labrum was slighty torn, they fixed it and tighten it up,going back,if i had it to do over, and if was just a slight labrum tear,i would not have had surgery, craziest thing ive ever done,my shoulder never will be the same again

But i had no choice,if they hadnt removed the bone spurs,it would have torn my rotator cuff, unless i have a bad tear,i will not have surgery again!!

I had you exact surgery in my 20s as well as 4 surgerys for the other mentioned repairs! one on left 3 on right and Jan 31 going to make 4 on right! for the labrum! I have returned to heavy lifting with out much issue after any of these!

Granted you need to Heal it properly first. Even with these set backs over the years. Note none of the actual injurys came from lifting directly! I've managed to add a conservative 70lbs over the years!

I plan on using HGH for this surgery! Going to be intresting to see how well it works?

how long after the surgery were you able to return to training? and how do you plan on using HGH? is it something my doctor could prescribe?

An iu is another form of measurement... really 1cc=10iu. Dosage is just different, you use a different pin and it would be hard to measure out 3/10's cc right.

Talk to a doctor 1st, you may be suprised. If he says no go to another doctor. I know a lot of people on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and MOST of them also have gh prescribed to them as well. If you can have this done with a doctor's consultment and observation that is a great option.

I was back at it in 3 months! I have doctors that will perscribe it but its very exspensive! Some insurances will pay for it when related to an injury! Mine will! as for dose I havent figured out what I'm going to use yet but my thoughts are in the 5 to 8iu range!

I don't think my insurance will cover it. How expensive can it be. Can you give me an average?

thanks

The proper term for my procedure is called 'Arthtrex tightrope' it was combined with the weaver dunn procedure.

It's been 3 weeks now since surgery and recently the pain has become more extreme. It starts from the front corner of the shoulder where the end of the bone is and around that area. Another area of pain is the tip of the clavivle that feels like its in the upper area of shoulder but near to the back of shoulder.

I feel like the link has slipped causing pain. If this is a post surgery complication I dont know what can be done to fix it. But it could be that the muscles in the shoulder area than cover tissue and bone has shrunk significantly therefore causing pain.

Has anyone had muscle pain? it is extreme and feels like a burning feeling.
