Sinus problems - Prednisone

Anyone have any experience with prednisone? I have had some extreme sinus pressue - a blocked sinus. My doc wants me on a 5 day course of Prednisone. I have read about the side effects and am a little freaked out.

This stuff seems pretty potent. Can I just do a day's worth? % days seems pretty extreme.

I am on Flonase now and that seems to help - a little.

Suffered from Rhinitis Medicamentosa resulting from a 15 year plus nasal spray addiction. I kicked it and had a relapse after a sinus infection.

Sorry - I can't help much with your question - I'm hooked on the spray as well - how did you end up kicking it?

Prednisone is definitely strong stuff and really no good for you but if it's just a 5 day course then i wouldnt worry about it too much. Long term use can cause some terrible issues though...
