six weeks in....did blood work on my own

SJC

I am banned!
Like the title says. I'm 6 weeks in on TRT. Injecting 100mg a week. I started doing 1 injection for 3 weeks then I decided to split the 100mg into 2 injections a week. The Dr wanted to see me in 3 month but I don't want to let it go that long. My initial Test was 240 when I started now it is 1007 with E2 at 56.8 which is high on the scale of 7.6-42.6pg/ml. The blood work was done 24 hrs after my 50mg mid week injection. I feel great, work outs are better...shit everything is better.

Question:

I read on here somewhere that E2 my be about 10-15 points high on the standard test result and I should get the sensitive essay test to get a true reading?

If that isn't true and since I don't have any symptoms of higher E2 should I just ride it out and maybe get the Dr to prescribe me an AI or should I find an AI and self administer it myself?

I would say your test was at a peak value and that T and E2 will drop shortly. 56.8 isn't THAT high. I wouldn't worry about it personally. Definitely not enough to take an AI for.

I agree that 56.8 isn't that high, but I wouldn't say that its definitely not enough to take an AI for. Keep looking out for acne (it can sneak up on you on your back) and other symptoms of high E.

That's generally true about the regular assay being inflated. Get the sensitive assay next time if you can afford it.

If I were you I would try taking something like DIM to control your estradiol. That might be enough to keep you in the sweet spot.

The reason I say "definately" is because it's likely that it is only that high for a day or less...most likely will drop to normal by the time the next shot is due or shortly before that...just as the T goes up and then down.

Thanks for the replies. I kind of though it would be high with being so close to an injection. The next time I get blood work done I'll wait to the day before my 2nd weekly pin to see peak and trough levels.

I see your point, but it's possible you are overestimating the swings that occur on a 3.5 day injection cycle. Estimates vary, but 24 hours to peak is on the low side. Let's say it's 36 hours to peak and half life is 5 days (also on the low side). 2 days (time from peak to next injection) is only a 25% drop, which may really not be much less than 12 hours before peak. If you use a longer half life (like 7 days) then the drop is even less.

Hi Megatron, I've heard DIM mentioned quite a few times now when it comes to the regulation of estradiol... can you tell me how DIM differs to an AI?

I can only speak to it in general. An Aromatase Inhibitor does just that. It is a drug that reduces aromatization of testosterone into Estradiol via the aromatase enzyme. DIM does not inhibit aromatization. My understanding is that it helps clear the estradiol out of your body faster; thus reducing it.

as others stated 56 isn't that high on regular panel. I'll usually test aroudn there and then be aroudn 19-24 on a sensitive panel.
You feel good and that's what matters. I wouldn't mess with anything.
Ai's are a pain in the ass. Plus it was a peak number probably...

I have about a 100 TT drop a day whether i'm on once every 7 days, or once every 3.5 days. Now, a lot things go into that, and everyone will clear it out in their own time. However, my point is...the clearance rates are the same. For me, I go up, and then lose about 100 TT every day. E2 goes up and down similarly, but obviously not on same scale. I think we hit peak a lot faster than most think we do.

I'm reading some of this stuff ^^^^ - and I'm actually liking the fact that I'm on Nebido (Test Undecanoate) for TRT... stable blood levels, hardly any peaks and troughs, less pinning etc... and blood draws much less frequently.

Surely Nebido is the way forward with regards to TRT worldwide?

It's still too early to make that call Ben. When is your next labs due?

Nevermind, just read your other post.

Oh I totally agree... far too early... my next labs are due on the 27th (5 days time) - I'm hoping I'll be on the low side so that I can get the 6 week booster shot - but I already feel soooo much better than I did when I was on regular sustanon shots...
For the first time in ages, I'm not rolling out of bed wondering how I'll be feeling that day. To me, that's a fantastic thing!
