Slow weight loss Question

So a long time ago I was grossly overweight and cut on a high protein low carb diet doing weight training, low intensity cardio 3 times a week for 30-40 min hiit 3 times a week and slowly reducing calories. My maint was about 2k probably less and I cut from 1700 through to about 1300 cals in the end. 60 lbs or so in a year, got nice and lean, go aimed muscle, had nice quads - quad separation, bicep vein was pretty happy.

3 years worth of training later - and 2 cycles I blew up almost to my former weight put on essentially 40 lbs most of it was muscle.

I stopped training and even went veg for over a year for about 5 years after.

I just got back to training and finding myself with a beer gut and extra fat so I am cutting before i bulk. I have a significant amount more muscle mass than when I cut the first time - I'd say at least 20 lbs more. I was also not an adult the first time I was about 17 so my hormones might not have been stable. I am 26 now. I am cutting on keto which has worked well for me in the past and on about 1500 cals. I only do enough medium to high intensity cardio whenever I feel my metabolism slow down to kick it up again. My idea is to add cardio in a daily manner when my weitloss from dieting slows down.

I am losing way too slow for someone training 2x/day (old school split I am rediscovering doing strength training in the am and hypertrophy/muscle maturation in the pm). 5 weeks in I have lost about 5lbs. Would expect at least a total of 10 given the added fat loss that usually occurs at the start of a weight loss program.

I DO have a hormone problem. My test levels are clinically low. About half of what they should be at minimum. My prolactin in through the roof. It is about 5x what it should be at maximum. I am trying to,get this sorted out with a doctor.

I have even been using albuterol at 16mg per day for the last 10 days. I can easily feel the thermogenic and heart rate effects and if I take a nap in the day I wake up in sweat and heat. Despite what should be a well over 500 cal deficit and the albuterol use I've only lost about 2 and a half kilos in 5 weeks.

I really feel I should be losing more

You need to lower your prolactin. Figure out what is causing to be elevated. Any medications you are using? Prolactinoma?

High prolactin lowers Testosterone levels.

This is impeding your ability to lower body fat.

You should check your thyroid too, although the calorie restriction you are on ia probably slowing your thyroid down.

Do you remember what you ran that first cycle when you were 17?for how long ? Any AI's or pct?

Did my first cycle when I was 19. Test e @500 used Letro as an ai. Pct was nolva and clomid I believe. Test was fine after that.

Actually this prob is because of a mishap. Was 3 weeks into a cycle then got dvt and was hospitalized and bedridden for 5 months and couldn't pct

If you have been on the same diet for an extended amount of time you can expect fat loss to slow. I'd recommend swapping to a high carb low fat diet for a few weeks then swapping back or begin carb cycling and see if it helps. Periodically changing your diet can make all the difference.

youre a grown adult eating 1500 calories... your metabolism has crashed.. your low t is likely to being overweight and then doing some extreme cutting to get in shape..
