YAYYYY!!
It's been about a month since we were told to start this diet. It's been extremely challenging and tolling mentally. I've broken a few times and eaten whatever was available, even if it meant McDonald's. I can't remember a day in my life when I didn't eat meat. My grandfather owns a cattle farm. In the summers I'd eat three to four pounds of sirloin a day if I wanted to. Being on this diet was almost impossible to get the required amount of calories and nutrients I required, especially being an athlete competing on an elite level. I felt I did what I had to. Coach called us together after practice and told us why we were doing this. The diet was a test. He was trying to show us the stress and pressures that come with going to school and trying to compete on this level. There are going to be distractions, like girls and parties. And there's going to be temptations, like not going to class or doing homework. Doing this diet a month before university courses began was to give us a sample of the dedication and willpower needed to keep focused in this kind of environment and still be able to train and practice as elite athletes. We all failed. Seems I have a lot to learn about my gymnastics. It's so odd, I never would of thought something like this was going on behind the scenes. I think I'm going to enjoy this coach!
