So Why does low t cause depression, anxiety, insomnia?

I always read it can cause it, but never why. I believe I am experiencing symtoms of a low t crash. I had low t before but felt mentally fine, after stopping hrt two weeks in and a week of clomid my t levels are lower than they started. I'm slowly recouperating but I am not getting no sleep and I wake up depressed/lethargic while feeling spaced out during the day. it is getting better but it's been almost two months since my last shot, 3/20 and last dose of clomid was 3/25.

its a pita to be honest. around the afternoon I start to pick up speed and feel me again but every morning is the same shyt. depressed, don't wanna get out of bed, just wanna sleep.

well.. hrt is meant to replace your test levels and knowingly shutting down your own production, to replace them at a higher (normal) amount... so yes jumping off hrt would give you lower t levels...
I think you need to do a bit more research on shut down, aas and hrt.
good luck

if you already had low T and why you went on HRT, then you have no reason to stop hrt... because they are not going to go any higher man... hrt is for life... not for a short duration..

Stopping HRT without managing your increased estrogen will cause those symptoms. I bet your your E2 is off the charts. Clomid will also cause higher E2 from the aromitization of the T.

Nah I know now I should have stayed on or done a proper restart, but that isn't my question.

I'm wondering what exactly goes on that causes symptoms of depression. You can just say cuz you jumped off hrt, that's a given. But what is going on exactly. What about people who experience mood problems before hrt that have low testosterone? Why do they experience depression and anxiety.

Start taking Methylcobalamin. If u can get it in inject form from a compounding pharmacy even better.
That stuff helps with mood. Get Vit. D tested as well and if it's not optimum get on that. Order top quality vit. E and get on that as well plus zinc picolinate.
I'm putting my best foot forward for you here bro.
You did not have a good experience from TRT and clomid.
I think there is something else going on.
Whats your thyroid like?
Have you had a sleep study done?
Are you working out and maintaing a healthy BMI ??

He only ran clomid for a week. I doubt his E2 is high.
Even guys that run it ED at a month or more dont usually go over 52 pg/ml.

The simple answer is dopamine. Testosterone allows you to release this "reward" hormone, which provides for the general feeling of well being.

Before you started you may not have had a pituitary issue making LH, but once you've been on exogenous testosterone for a long enough period of time, your body may simply stop producing this vital hormone that triggers the production of natural test. This is the number one reason why I cannot fathom why doctors request baseline values when a person has been on trt for a long period of time.

Example: You start out as a combination of primary (your testes don't quite work well) and secondary (there's a problem with the signal telling the testes to work), but you still produce enough test to somewhat function. Once you go on trt, you shut down that signal completely, compounding the existing problem, which may be permanent. This is why clomid may or may not work as it tries to trick your pituitary gland into waking up, but may not always work.

With a depleted production of natural testosterone, you simply may not have the ability to produce enough dopamine or other "feel good" hormones that rely on having that LH/test signal to stay fully active. This is why most educated docs will add HCG to your TRT protocol, as it acts as a "fake" LH signal, backfilling those vital pathways.

At least that's my stab at what you're going through.

My .02c :)
