sore abs question...

I started hitting the abs much harder one week ago. I added weighted crunches and some other stuff. I do abs 3x week with cardio.

So today they are still very sore after a days rest. Should I leave them alone until the soreness is gone?

i've found that when i'm sore, doing some kind of LIGHT exercise to loosen up the muscle and get some more blood flow helps with recovery and comfort. so try doing a few sets of crunches or something easy just to get warmed up, not really working the muscle hard, just warming up.

thanks Walker thats exactly what I did. I'm basically an newbie and never added weight to abs work before, so I think overdid it first time out, and I was afraid of a permanent injury. Never had abs so sore! I'm going to add the weight crunches at a slower pace.
