most people ive seen use spotters for benching. they ussually help them put out 1 or 2 more reps then they could by themselves. i think thats kind of like negatives, ne ways...

why dont people spot others for EVERY excersize? you would get the same benifits you do from a spotter on the bench wouldnt you?

oh ya...and how the hell do you post a poll on here. i click on the little box "yes i want to post a poll" and nothing happenes.

Sure, you could probably reap benefits from having a spotter on every exercise, but sometimes time is an issue.

Another point, on bench a spotter is moreso necessary due to safety, while you don't need one for most other things.

Me and my bro spot eachother on all our ecercises...we use god form, but i would rather have someone spot me for some help then cheat on a movement..

you should generally use a spotter on seated military presses with the straight bar...i use ine for a lift and if i need it help on the last few reps of heavies and to rack the sucker..

skull crushers i go heavy, and a spotter helps me from breaking my head, not to mention he can hand me the weight..

spotter on squat for me is a must...

Lol, yeah it is helpful here. I'm usually forced to just let the bar down on the supports if I can't get the last rep up, and just unload it from there.

I use a spotter whenever going for max's or even just heavy sets. Especially on bench or military press where a hand off the racks can make a world of difference. The military press stands are very far back at my gym. With even an empty bar it is hard to get your arms back there to grab the bar.

Squats, benches, shoulder press, lying ext..all have a spot if I have someone nearby and if I'm going really heavy.

Spotter??? WTF is a spotter??? All I have are dumbass frat assholes and the Icy Hot Stuntaz that sit there and look at a brother like WTF?? when I'm bein pinned by 275 at the end of a bench set.

You gotta just nut the fuck up when that happens.....never give those bitches the satisfaction of seeing somebody 80lbs bigger and one hell of a lot stronger than them be pinned. (Can you tell I'm a little pissed?)

Anyway, I used to lift with a group of like 8 guys, so we always had spots, but since I moved out here in August, I've been goin balls out by myself. For me now, it's either get the weight or die tryin.
