Steroid Myths 101

JWS77

...I am your Father
In a communal effort to educate all newcomers to AAS, list 1 common myth associated with AAS below. I'll start...

There is no miracle pill or drug that you can take to change your body composition overnight (or in a few weeks for that matter). If you aren’t satisfied with yourself and want to make a change, the ONLY way is to work at it. You must keep a healthy lifestyle!!!

Only after you have a healthy diet, workout, sleep schedule, and the ability to keep it consistent, will supplements help you. This goes for steroids as well. Of course, some supplements, like andro products, creatine, and protein meal replacements, will be of some benefit to someone who may not have everything in place but, they are still not going to help to their full capacity. You have to help them help you. You have to feed your body well, so they can be used to their full potential.

Steroids will only be a true benefit to a person who has paid the price of time and hard work in the gym. A person who hasn’t, will certainly see gains after using a steroid correctly, however, the chance of them being quality gains is very low and the person will certainly loose the bulk of them. In short, nothing, not even steroids, can change the way you look in the long run without hard work and discipline.

1 common myth huh? Well since it's come up alot lately and I know me and other people are tired of hearing newbs soooooo concerned about it.... Gear causing hairloss! You dont need propecia and all this other shit for a 12 week cycle of test!! Pro body builders run how much gear for months and months. Some never come off. Do you see all of them on stage with bald spots and receding hair lines? Hell no. Maybe a few but I highly doubt it's from gear. I started losing my hair when I was 20 years old, many years before I ran a cycle. Quit researching about hairloss and research on how to run a proper cycle and proper pct! Hair loss should be your last concern with some of the fucked up cycles that are posted on here.

hahaha that hair loss one made me feel a lil better about starting believe it or not. but Winstrol (winny) will push your hair back

I'll throw up a myth, ROID RAGE !

If you lose your cool you were probably gonna lose it anyway.

Actually colt....the hairloss by steroids is not a myth. Test converts to dht and dht binds to the follicle which will kill the hair....those guys your talking about, well, you can bet your ass they are using some sort of preventative method

To add to the thread...I absolutely hate the roid rage myth!

BA causes injection pain.

^^^^ myth

BA is used in Pharmacy gear @ up to 10%. Ive injected .1 ML of BA (which is 10%) and so has another well known guy, and I didn't feel anything but initial light sting.

I agree cobra..when your an asshole roid s make you a bigger asshole..more of everything...they exacerbate a preexsitng condition and help alter some for the better..back to the old.... we're all differant thing and they will affect us all differant.

I agree with hair loss..it s a fact for some except for me..it makes me a gorilla..everywhere..head back, balls, arms, legs jeezzz..

I'm new to all this, but here's what I've gathered so far.

On Baldness:
I have not seen any valid argument against the theory that additional testosterone can accelerate hair loss in men via additional resultant DHT. As far as I can tell, this is a widely accepted notion.

On "Roid Rage":
There is significant scientific evidence that higher levels of testosterone may increase aggression. The evidence is not overwhelming, but it's there. Based on my very limited research, it seems that the lack of evidence simply comes from a lack of high quality studies, as I haven't seen any very convincing studies that resulted in no correlation, or a different explanation, either.

On Steroids Being A Replacement For Hard Work
The rumors tend to be that 1. Steroids are a short-cut, and that 2. Steroids do/don't benefit a person who doesn't exercise. The truths are that steroids will accelerate results from training, but will also increase your potential to what would not be possibly "naturally". Also, steroids can, increase muscle and decrease fat in a person who doesn't train, although the results are not dramatic enough to make a person look like a weight-lifter without actually lifting weights.

Roids stunt growth is the one that pisses me off the most. Nope, its E2 that closes growth plates not test, in fact test has been shown to cause an increase in height when E and E2 is controlled.

I realize test cause increase in estro and E2 but people automatically assume theres nothing u can do and its final.

A genetic inclination to MPB is a determining factor in eventual hair loss.

Highly androgenic drugs that bind to the androgen receptors in the scalp DO ACCELERATE hair loss dramatically.

Cause hair loss - NO
Accelerate it - YES.

That is why my sons will be put on an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) when they start to go through puberty to ensure that they don't end up with early plate closure like I did from the natural aromatization that occurs with a high natural test level.

Cobra- I guess I should of worded my post better. I know the conversion of DHT can accelerate hairloss. Do I believe that 1 cycle of test for 12 weeks is gonna make you go bald? HELL NO. My post regarding this is due to the the 5 or 6 posts I've seen in the last 2 weeks with newbs running a 10 week cycle of test and thinking theyre gonna go bald from it. Or better yet the ones that are gonna run an oral only cycle or a deca only cycle and thier biggest concern is their hair. Like I said, should of worded that better.

This ^^^ Better wording then mine. Thank you cashout.

Haha i dont think it works that way...

Actually it does. I've already taken my oldest son to the country's leading pediatric endocrinologist at Johns Hopkins.

Oh shi..... Haha idk i was just spitballin

Edit: plus an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) wont encourage bones to grow... It just delayes its fusion, ud have to also give ur child test or hgh. I think

He said when his kid is going through puberty :Pat: Last thing the kid is going to need is test.

actually decreasing aroma would raise his T level and his free T. In turn raising GH, since they both stimulate each other.

On top of that, not letting them close early would give the teen more time to grow, I think your not understanding something here......................................

Do dr's actually prescribe ai's for kids? Something like that would of been great when I was a kid.

Yes. This is the reason that I'm short.

My test levels were very high from age 13 on. It lead to early bone plate closure. My plates were full closed before I was 17 due to the rate at which my body was converting test to estrogen.

Back then, in the 1980s, there was no treatment for such a condition.

Today, there is - Aromatase inhibitor (AI) to limit estrogen.

There are plenty of studies on the process and the two best pediatric endocrinologist who work in the field are at Johns Hopkins and Vanderbilt University respectively.
