Steroid use and relationships

I really appreciate the thread 3j as well as everyones experience. I am in a relationship and trying to figure out how to broach the topic of my AAS use. I met her in the middle of my first cycle and wasn't sure where it was going so I felt no need to say anything at the time, but now things are getting serious and I do plan on doing a second cycle. Her occupation is a RN in the ER and she has told me some of the horror stories of people misusing AAS she has seen. I understand why this would leave a bad taste in her mouth. It also leaves me confused about how to bring it up to her.

Is she into fitness at all?

I think AAS are around #140 on the list of reasons people get admitted to ER...significantly below tylenol overdose, for example

Do you look like you're on gear?

Watch bigger faster stronger with her as an introduction

Broach the subject gently; talking about the hormones in birth control, negatives of low test (leading into a TRT discussion) is a decent gameplan...worked for me at least

sign up for HRT.. get legal.. judge cant touch you

Easier said than done sometimes. It appears that many Doc's won't even consider HRT even if you are at the bottom of the scale. As long as you are within range, NOPE! Even though the bottom of that scale includes 70 year old diabetics.

you should contact our sponsor increase my t

Currently my T is doing ok, pct went well, but I'm definitely keeping that sponsor in mind. Not sure if I wanted to be married to a needle just yet. I just know quite a few friends that have tried, and seems quite a few get turned away. It's disappointing. Doc's are the gate keeper, and they seem very resistant to it.

Great thread 3J! I agree with all your points and totally believe in full disclosure. My wife currently is on HRT doses of test herself and keeps trying to get me to stockpile up some hgh as she has had her eyes opened to the hypocrisy that is our society. "Do what it takes to win, but don't get caught."

The poster with the nurse should have her expand on WHY there are folks in the ER for AAS related issues. I bet most of them come down to poorly informed folks simply doing it wrong. I totally agree with watching Bigger, Faster, Stronger as a great way to open the dialog. There is far too much misinformation out there as we all know that the "supplements" that truly work stay unrestricted for a very short time. There's too much money to be made from snake-oil (supplement industry) and prescription drugs that are often far more harmful.

For the record: I've run several tren cycles and am quite happily married still. It's just a matter of being in control and being accountable for your actions - like everything else in life. ;)

My .02c. :)

She is in fitness, but not anything like me. I would say it is more about overall health for her. She does support me in my goals and respects that this is a passion for me. You are totally right about the #140 reason, but seeing a few young kids that had no clue what they were doing and really hurt themselves did help shape her view on it.
No at this point I wouldn't say I look like I'm on gear except some lingering acne. Those sound like a few good bullet points for the conversation and I will definitely check out bigger faster stronger. Thanks for the help brother!

I never lied about it. maybe avoided it a couple months... but was honest.. or else... WTF is the point of bothering in a relationship... its not a very deep one obviously or you would not need to lie... just how i feel

I'm soo grateful to have the girl i have in my life.. she kicks ass in and outside of the gym.. this girl is 3 weeks out n shes soo dedicated, im saying waking up at 5am to do fasted cardio before going into work then training every night with her coach or me .. i can't wait to see her on the stage in 3 weeks..

she's also super cool with gear. i have a suspicion that its actually a turn on for her lol

bEING A LEGITIMATETRT PATIENT IS A BLESSING YES.

However even having a pass if you will..were my gf not only cool and we re together now 30 months...were I to haveto start over...I would never disclose my aas even trt as the general public is so misinformed and so many people are only educated in their chosen occupation or hobby that all they hear about aas are what what the talking heads on t v tell them.

Rarely do the news officials want to give people who use aas ANY credit for the hours they put in the gym, adherence to discipline etc,'

Hiding something from your significant other is bad news. Hiding aas usage from her is a disaster waiting to happen because from my experience from reading on here and listening to others not a lot people know what aas really is, how it affects us in positive ways when administered the correct way. Aas are frowned upon but it's only cuz they're a few people that f it up for us. Making our significant other a little more knowledgeable will help our relationship out and also our brings down the number of people who think we are monsters.

i admitted my use of aas to my girlfriend. that happened when i was suffering with low t after my contest prep cycle. she was really supportive.
I have been off for 7 months now.. still on the bottom range of natty test... i didt wanted to end up in trt... but 7 months is a long time..
what are the chances of getting gf/wifey pregnant on trt ?

I don't think its possible to hide steroids from some one your going out with for years on end. TRT maybe could be hidden because a doctor can make sure everything is running right in your body. But the average guy cycling is more likely than not to get some side effects that will be a dead give away. Ha ha ha so many funny scenario's go through my head. Lol imagine trying to explain why you got bitch tits or having freakish night sweats.

The one down side to full disclosure is if you are married and have kids, and then have to go through a divorce, she could easily use that against you and play to the public fear that AAS makes you an unfit parent. Half of all marriages end in divorce these days, and one of my buddies had this very thing happen. His wife used her knowledge of his AAS use to get full custody of the kids and a fatter divorce settlement.

I agree wholeheartedly, in the long run something will give it away

I'm not proud to admit I hid a 1g tren/wk cycle from my s/o due to fear she would not be ok with it

I even had bacne, trensomnia and decent gains, none of which she questioned for some reason though
