Steroids and Prostate Related Concerns - Symptoms and Prevention

Good stuff as always bro! Crap, I feel like since I started cycling, I piss way more often. Usually have to wake up once a night. Lately been noticing a weak flow at night. I'm 33 so I figured it was just me getting older.

I'd like to know what the Aromatase inhibitor (AI) dosage was for the (n=1) study linked. More and more research is pointing to elevated estradiol causing prostate issues (sure I can see hypertrophy over time from AAS) like BPH or prostatitis, not the androgens themselves.

Just an example, I can't find the really good one that shows a direct relationship - but you get the idea. Estradiol causes the rapid accumulation of cAMP in human prostate. *Note: The antiestrogens mentioned in the abstract refers to SERMS, not AI's.

lol, I was trying to keep that can of worms closed. Estrogen relation to prostate is such an incredibly wide research topic. I'm actually still researching because I'm still not convinced, then again, I've said that about 100 other things and eventually proven wrong.

Yeah, I hate how befuddled the studies come when it involves cancer or other "hot" topics like prostate health in this baby boomer fueled economy. Great writeup though! :)

Guys pinning test are supposed to masturbate less? I can't imagine how hard that would be lol

Austinite, does this apply to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) patients? Or just mega doses to produce gains?

It certainly applies to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) patients. Educated and up to date endocrinologists and urologists often order PSA panels. The idea of megadoses isn't as dangerous as it may sound, however, for someone like me, who's been cycling on and off for nearly 2 decades, it becomes quite an elevated concern.

As for masterbation, it's only a concern if you're diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, as the act can worsen the condition due to the muscle being exercised. Similar to painful urination, you'll also realize that ejaculation is also painful. But there's no need to avoid masterbation if you don't have an enlarged prostate.

Ahhh thanks for the clarification brother
Good read!

Are there any steroids which are more aggravating to prostate health? I'm thinking, specifically about high androgen steroids and compounds that are derived from DHT (Masteron, for example).

Prostate problems on cycle is definitely a overlooked problem for most people. I appreciate you giving us the knowledge to make things as safe as possible. I really wish I knew all of this stuff like 2 years ago.

You know, this question has been (and still is) debated for years and there's no real evidence. However, from research and my own conclusions, which arent set in stone, is that you are correct. DHT derivatives are more of a culprit.

Another thing that I cannot believe I forgot to include is Tadalafil (Cialis). This is GREAT for your prostate and can even lower your PSA back to range fairly quickly. 5mg daily of Cialis has been studied and without a doubt proven to help keep a healthy prostate.

Jeez, is there anything Cialis can't do?

Again, great post. I was glad you added in the Cialis. I personally had an enlarged prostate a while back. I read an article on Cialis being used to treat Prostatic hyperplasia and I started to supplement. In one month, I retested and my results were normal and I wasn't pissing all night anymore. I was only on my testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose too so I do know it happened to me as well as a friend on TRT. Cialis is part of my ED life now and I'm not complaining. Lol.

Few weeks ago you've mentioned in your vitamin thread that cialis has few other benefit on top of helping with ED. I researched it, and I'm going to use 10mg for my next cycle. While reading this thread, I knew you were going to recommend cialis lol.
Is it true that it increases blood flow, helps with depression, lowers bad cholesterol, and lowers BP?

Would you recommend cialis 5mg daily off cycle for people in their 20's?

Yes, it's true. This drug is amazing. I run 10mg daily but I split it into 2 doses. You don;t have to split it but I do because I want 5mg pre workout. Take your 10mg a couple hour before and you'll have a crazy pump.

Yes, I would recommend it for anyone over 18. Great drug.
