Study shows HGH has little benefit for the elderly

Here's the summary of a study that was just published yesterday in Jounals of Internal Medecine Systematic Review: The Safety and Efficacy of Growth Hormone in the Healthy Elderly

Based on a quick guessimate, it looks like they were taking about 2iu/day of HGH. The results seem kind of disappointing, although an increase of 2.1kg lean mass at 70 years old is nothing to sneeze at. It would be interesting to see what the effects of HGH along with mild HRT are on the elderly.

IMO, the article is bunk! My parents started HGH therapy while in their early 80's. In 1 an 1/2 years of 1iu per day 5 days on, 2 days off, my father dropped 45 lbs. body fat, and my mother dropped 35lbs. They made absolutely no life style changes when they started, such as changing their diet or starting an exercise program.

I have a very low opinion to say the least of our main stream medical community. Health care is the largest business in the USA, and all the money being made is based on our society being sick. Doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, and the huge pharmaceutical industry are like wild predators pouncing on wounded prey.

I am always reminded of a bumper sticker I saw over 20 years ago: "Cure Cancer, Kill Doctors"! Too much money being made on cancer for there ever to be a cure.
