Hello my friends. I have a question:

The syringe filter must be sterile?

or may be a normal filter?

Another doubt:

I can only use .45 or filter should use the filter .22?

thank you

Hi OveeR,

Syringe filters are sterile. If I'm not mistaken, a filter can be sterilized using isopropil alcohol.

About filter size, I read from many websites that the .22 filter is used to filter out small bacterias.
The .45 filter might be too big, and some bacterias can go through it.

You can look at this website to see different types of filtration systems.

I don't have much of experience about filtration systems.
If you want to know where to buy filters at the best prices, hopefully some other members can show you.

Either a .45 or a .22 will work just fine. They are both used everyday without any issues. Buy sterile whatman filters and be done with any worrying or what if's..
