it seems like i get better pumps from days i do lighter weights with more reps (3 sets @15 reps), then on days i do more sets, heavier weights, less reps (5 sets @5 reps)... i do more weight, more sets, and i walk out of the gym feeling about half the pump i do on a 'light' day... then i notice i get the muscle soreness more after a heavy workout the next few days.
