throwing away syringes

Lift, eat, sleep and grow
My question is "where and how do you throw away your pins?" Be honest.

I used to take the pin with the cap on it and remove the plunger and put the pin inside the syringe and then reinsert the plunger then wrap it with about 10 paper towels and throw it in the trash but I was always worried some kid would get a hold of it somehow. I used to play near a landfill as a kid. So now I use an empty protein jug and I still wrap them but I store them in there. When it gets full I tape it securely with duct tape and label it "MEDICAL WASTE:" DO NOT OPEN. Then I find a random dumpster and throw it in there. Is there a better way? I'd like to hear it.

depending on where you live you can buy a special container[ sharps ] for them and some hospitals would take them .

I don't know, but the protein jug is going to be pretty damn rigid, so it pretty much serves the same purpose.

I've been tested for blood borne diseases and know I'm clean so I'm fairly careful but I don't take all the precautions that a hospital would.

Buy a sharps container or use a glass jar to put the used needles in. Go to your nearest hospital and find one of the porters or other member of staff; ask him/her if they know where the sharps/medical waste goes. Workers are always going back and forth to the trash because of the amount of refuse that hospitals produce. They would probably get rid of them for you. I don't think anyone would ask any questions because they'd just be happy you're being responsible by disposing of the needles properly and not just leaving them in the middle of the street or on the floor of a train station toilet like scum-bag heroin addicts do.

I guess I am a prick because I just throw in the trash

I suppose that's OK as long as they're wrapped up or in a container or something. It only goes to a landfill site anyway; I don't think anyone's gonna come into contact with the needles there, except for the seagulls maybe.

I put the cap, -if not available a cork -or if not available, 2 cigarette buts over the needle, put it back in its original packaging if I still have it, and put it in the trash. If I have a random container available, like an empty bottle of wine or an empty plastic box, I put it in there first before throwing it in the trash.

Some landfills have diffrent sorting facilities, some are only machinery and some machinery/with workers on the conveyor belt picking out shit.

as a sanitation worker there have been several incidences at my job of residents disposing needles in the trash. sometimes they fall out of the bag and are noticed, or depending on the nature of the waste, it sets an alarm off at the dump (some medical waste gives off radiation if used for chemo treatments and such). in that case a hazmat team is callled in to sort thru the waste and there have been times when the medical waste is found mixed in with household garbage. with names. and addresses. in that case a code enforcement officer is sent to the house to issue a summons. i have heard rumors in other districts of this leading to major arrests in a drug ring (heroin) so i would think the same would be applicable with AAS.

if your too much of a dick to care about a sanitation worker getting stuck, at least try not to put yourself, or worse your family or roomates, at risk and attempt to dispose of your pins safely (or as safe as you can)

my 2 cents.

Good post. So what would you recomend?
what would be safe for both the sanitation workers and us?

Protein jug and then when about 3/4 full add insulation foam. Works perfect and then toss into a dumpster somewhere.

see above. protein jug idea is ok, but not 100%, but at least its something. or most hospitals accept them. if you dont want the exposure of personally dropping them off, then go with the protein jug. believe it or not, my gym has a sharps disposal in the bathroom. now that is classic.

but try to dump outside of where you live or rotate dumpsters, ideally never dumping in the same location twice. never know when big bro is watching. a complaint could lead to a watch on a dumpster, which could lead to unforseen consequences.

This is what I am talking about. I don't want to hurt anyone.
The protein jug appears to be the best solution. When I throw away my boxes that my test or hgh came in I always peel the label off that has my name and RX number on it as well. I tear that to shreds and dump in a separate trash can outside of the home.
