tonight at 8pm...the science of steroids

Johny J

never gonna be a ***
On national geographic channel. Probably on the expanded cable pack for most of you.

it should be worth watching. Probably worth a good laugh on all the overhyped bullshit, but you never know. It may be made with a half-way, semi non-retarded bias view point.

Enjoy, i will.

I currently have it recorded on my DVR..... it's absolutely worth watching. I've actually replayed it a couple times cause it's truly refreshing, you'll be shocked to see that a majority of the Doctor's were extremley (Pro-Steroids).... and the ones that weren't openly admitted that there was no conclusive evidence of Steroids being fatal.

I highly recommend you watch!

i saw it too and have it DVRed as well... like Parker said it was refreshing to see "medical professionals" (i use that term lightly) agree with us that steroids do in fact work and they won't kill you as soon as you do your first injection

definately worth watching

I DVR'd it as well and what blows me away and has for years is how steroids get the bad wrap when they don't even discuss the recreational drugs ie. cocain, pot, ex that the user was doing. Like the kid that died they speak about. Wonder if he drank? Wonder if he ever smoked a joint? Wonder if he ever did a line? Hell he was a high school baseball jock. I was one of those and know what you deal with in those shoes. They don't mention anything like that on there. I will say it again and again and again. I don't care what it is if you do it in moderation there are benefits. IF you do it overboard there are consequences. The Mr. Universe guy made me fucking sick, He is going to bash roids but he didn't offer to tell us what his cycles were like when he was using. He was probably eating 20 D-bols/day and on 2g of test. The medical advancement for studies were not close to what they were today and for him to related the cause and effect to today's society and medicine was appalling to me! All in all a good show but no negative concrete evidence came out about using moderate amounts which to me was a win for us!

I still had several problems with the show.

1. they were still portraying Benoit as the posterboy for roid rage and Alzado as the posterboy for roid abuse. Both of those are inaccurate.

2. The dad spoke of kids injecting motor oil in their veins. this made me lol.

3. The woman in Michalek's "natty" competitions was far from natty. Come on, did anyone see her? she was practically a fuckin man. All the telltale signs of female steroid use.

4. They never really touched on the differences between small dosing vs megadosing as far as risks were concerned. They just kinda lumped it into one category.

I'll have to watch it.. Thanks for the recaps guys, my interest in the show is now peaked. I was thinking is was going to be some "steroids are bad" bullshit.

wasn't there a link somewhere on this board to a similiar 20/20 pro gear story???? If anybody has that link or the new one can you post it???

Mihalik pissed me off!!! Guy blames everything about him getting "OLD" and probable hereditary conditions on anabolics!! Show could've been enlightening but took the usual BS stance!!! Lyle Alzado....PPPUUUHHHLLLEEZZZ!!! And the 'supposed' gifted baseball prodigy would've commited suicide with or without taking steroids!!! It's called evolution... Survival of the fittest!! Mind and BODY!!! So much more could be done to explore the benefits but none of which will be done in my lifetime with the climate of the government and the sports witch-hunt!!

hmm dont know wat happened to the link but they are going to play it again 2day at 4pm(Pt),11pm(pt)/ 7pm(et), 2am(et)

I watched it and pretty much what I got from it was that it's not gonna kill you to do steroids if you do them right and you're about the right age. Watch it and you'll agree. The "negatives" occurred when pros abused the hell outta them or teenagers couldn't control their moods. And even the scientists said that no long-term effects have been proven. AND I think they said something along the lines of only 5% of steroid users in a study had "roid rage". I wish I could get my girlfriend to watch this.

I don't believe roid rage exists. I think its something thats built into someones personality to begin with. Maybe its brought out a bit easier due to higher test, but definitely not something completely caused by it. And alot is ego.

^^^i agree with everyone on the board. there negative engery towards Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) pisses me off

i wish they can take a nuteual point of view of Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) and let it be a ture documentry and get REAL stats of things like deaths related to steroids vs. crack.

bottom line...fu<k them

yeah i agree thats just how they put it. They didnt really bullshit that bad but if you notice they are tellin you if its done right and moderate your okay.

Would have really liked to watch this, we dont get this channel in the UK on standard tv.

Be great if anyone has an avi recording to share.

Eh its horseshit.... The best is the HBO special from a few years back.

Yes all those wrestlers and Alzado took steroids. BUT how much coke and pain killers and lord knows what other shit they were doing? Alzado had a super rare form of cancer that has no link whatsoever to anything including steroids. Just because Alzado said he was certain they were linked everyone believed that shit.
