7 weeks ago i was doing chest, db press. i always go deep on them and on my 4th rep of my 4th set, right as i was starting to push the db's up, i heard this terrible ripping sound in my left pec. it didnt really hurt at the moment but the sound was horrifying. the next day it felt like i had had an really hard chest workout, even though i only completed 3.5 sets, and i went to prop myself up from a chair and my left pec popped again and started hurting pretty bad. then it bruised real nice and i can tell that it is underneath my pec major, being my pec minor. the next few weeks i laid off from lifting chest, but every other day didnt seem to bother it. i got it massaged twice a week. last week i started working it back out, with like 65 lbs on bench, just to be safe. but it still hurts man. and to be honest, i dont think it has progressed that much. whenever i move my arm a certain way, it hurts just as bad as it did a few days after the injury. what should i do? keep waiting for it to heal, go see a physical therapist, chiropractor? should i work it out lightly or leave it alone. im starting to get worried because i have read that in injuries related to shoulders, if they dont heal in two weeks, surgery is the only remedy.
