Ya know, I wonder about this some times. I've never actually seen anyone squat and have their knees go beyond toes.....seems really unnatural and hard to keep balance. People really do it like that?
It does huh? Its a nice Golds, but i can only squat from that rack, and its in the very back corner. its nice though cause the only guys that come back there are serious... or the retards who do barbell curls off the rack. Of course i ask (tell) them to leave.Anyways, RJ why does your gym look like it's in an office building? lol
Have you tried front squatting with your hands like this:
Front Squat (Weightlifting Style)
I switched over pretty recently and it's really helped me a lot. I feel like my balance is better which lets me drive harder with legs and lift more weight. Took a while to get used to though.
yep. see it alot because guys do half squats and shit, and then when you tell them to sit all the way back and down, they pitch forward, causing the knees to lunge forward beyond the knee. Its not pretty. Most guys don't know how to open up there hips or don't have the strength to do it and then close in a fail. Again, pitching forward.
i have. Don't like it. I actually feel better my way. I have big delts so the bar sits nice in there. honestly this was the first time i have had to dump weight in a long time. I've never gone this heavy with fronts and i was truly at failure. Doesn't seem like it cause #4 was pretty sharp, but on the way down, i could feel my body giving up. lol i'm sure i could have muscled it up but i wouldve hurt something.
I don't doubt it. That's some serious weight. You're actually moving almost the same amount of weight as I do - I don't go past 4 plates on front squats. And when you consider the size difference, that's pretty impressive.....especially for such an old man lol
thanks dickhead.
honestly, this has been a really eye-opening year for me. I've been able to get my strength levels up to almost damn near what i used to be able to do during cycles. Just tweaking my mechanics and training a bit has made a huge difference.
I am just heading into my third week of this cycle, so it will really be interesting to see what happens. Thats if my knees hold up that is. Sucks getting old.
the only thing i can point out is widen ur stance just a little bit..
i bet u would have got 2 more reps if u did that... (this is from a powerlifting perspective)
Somehow though, she still looks and feels like she's 21.
