So, after going back to my general practitioner with the same symptoms of low energy and zero libido since late 2015 I finally got my doctor to order a blood panel for free testosterone. This guys office doesn't have the greatest track record for following up with me so I had to actually call them back after more than a week looking for the results. Turns out they came back and I was at 6.6 ng/dl. The nurse that called me back then informs me that the doctor wants to put me on a gel and that my prescription will be ready in the morning.
I do a little research and decide that I'm not comfortable with potentially solving a low libido issue only to be paranoid about part of my body coming in contact with my wife. Which leads me to calling the nurse back and telling them that I'm interested in considering injections. I'm not afraid of needles. I jab my dog with blood thinners three times a day. I don't mind learning the drill. When she takes that ask back to the doctor and comes back with one single 200mg injection once a month. I might have audibly scoffed into the phone. This is apparently their go to dosing and it "works for most people".
Suggestions? I'm thinking I just need to get a copy of my labwork and ask for a referral to the nearest doctor that actually does TRT regularly. I don't want to just settle for trying the gel.
