TRT update, Dr ready to give up on my TRT?

Hi guys, I update my situation here from time to time and want to get some advice after a frustrating visit to the TRT doc today. Here's a snapshot history for perspective: last cycle included heavy deca more than a year ago with proper PCT. I'm 40. My Total T tested 65 in December. I did a Hpta restart with IMT which raised my levels but two months later was back down to 200. So I'm completely shut down.

Found good TRT clinic in Boston at which the doctors are all Harvard medical urologists with tons of published research on TRT. They first put me on pellets and T got up to 800 but after three months T was 300. I asked to go on test cyp injections. He started me on 120mg a week done in two weekly injections a month ago. So far I feel no libido, loss of gym motivation. My blood test results for some reason were not faxed to my doctor by the lab company so we don't know test levels but my TSH is 10.
So today I tell him I'm not feeling great and he frowned and hinted that maybe "we're barking up the wrong tree" and may need to stop TRT because it's not working. My low T came way before increased TSH by the way. Finally he suggested an increase in dosage to 160mg a week but hinted if that doenlsnt work he doesn't know if I will continue on TRT.
I feel like he's giving up and hasn't tried enough dosage increases. I'm going to follow up with an endocrinologist for my thyroid too. I think deca basically put my pituitary to sleep. Don't see how I can NOT be on TRT if my total T goes down to 65!
Advices?

How can he say TRT is not working when he didn't even get your blood work?? That's complete crap.

Couple things could easily be going on here, as you've only just begun injections - test isn't high enough or e2 is too high, or thyroid is giving you fatigue issues and masking the results. If you don't have confidence in your doc you should request another and/or go see someone else. Maybe your new endo will take over your TRT for you as well. A lot of people find dialing in TRT to help bring thyroid back into range too. I'd say fix one thing at a time.

You really need to be on a stable protocol for four-six weeks and test bloods. Then if TT is too low, up the T dose. If e2 is too high, add/increase your AI. Wait four weeks and retest blood. It's a simple process really... this is why I'm so confused he hasn't even seen your first labs yet and he's already claiming it may not be working??

One thing for sure is that you need TRT. He's completely mad if he thinks you don't. 65ng/dl is actually the lowest reading I've ever heard of, you are seriously hypo.

Worst for worse, if he pulls your script, I would self-medicate with private bloods (if you have that option?) until you find a competent doctor.

Oh and deca didn't do anything to you. Your already shutdown due to TRT and your pituitary isn't doing anything in that regard anyway.

And how the hell does he arrive at the conclusion to increase the dose when he doesn't know where TT is, nor if if that's even the problem? If the issue is elevated estradiol, increasing your T dose is going to make things worse. What a moron.

A TT of 65ng/dl is DANGEROUS to your health. You likely do have AIH (androgen induced hypogonadism), combined with hypothyroidism - I don't know for sure whether or not TRT will fix a thyroid SCREAMING that hard for T3, but I'd imagine you will see some improvements in the next couple weeks if estradiol is in check.

I completely agree with Prince; you can't pull the plug if you don't have all the necessary data. He's going by symptoms, which is good - but he's neglecting the potential fact that there simply may be multiple issues going on at once.

Stick to your guns, YOU are the boss here - if you are not satisfied with the quality of service, YOU can FIRE the doctor and find one that does meet your needs.

My .02c :)

My TSH was fine until about March. TSH was 2 in January.

Forgot to post my e2. I did get that back. It's 38 and I do not use an AI. I tested in his office for free test today since my outside lab has not sent results to him. Shbg is good. T3 and t4 are low normal. I've never heard of TRT fixing thyroid issues. Is that true?
I think that I have profound hypogonadism related to deca. Will Hpta ever awaken? I'm 41. Doubtful.

Very doubtful if IMT couldn't wake it up. There are a TON of systems in the male body that rely on testosterone or its byproducts to function properly. The thyroid is indeed one of them. ;)

Thought some here would be familiar with him. From what I've seen on TRT forums he's one of the most well known and respected Male health doctors. Appears at seminars all over.

Is anyone here a patient of dr crisler? Wondering if his office accepts insurance or if it's all cash.

Best of luck there. His anti-aging stuff is cash only (at least last I looked it was). Then again, cash opens all sorts of doors. ;)
