Had physical in December. Tsh was 2. But my total test was 75. Fast forward to April I began TRT. My tsh was 6.5 and then on retest it was like 4.5.
This week I had labs for TRT and my TSH is 16! I'm wondering if it was an anomaly due to caffeine use beforehand or that I had it done at end of day but I can't find research backing up those cause/effect relationships. I don't have common low thyroid symptoms like dry skin, constipation, etc. but I do wonder if maybe I am suffering from inability to lose weight because I started the newest Insanity two weeks ago and have lowers calories slightly by way of carb cycling and I've had no circumference loss on waist.
Any thoughts, advice, research? I told my general doctor about my tsh of 6 and he said it was subclinical and didn't warrant treatment yet. Gonna let him know about the tsh 16.
Hope I don't have to be on thyroid Meds and TRT both for life.
