Type 2 diabetes and HRT

Does anyone here have type 2 diabetes? I am interested in particular, if testosterone replacement has helped any one here with glucose control.

This has been studied and it has been shown that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) improved insulin sensitivity and metabolic syndrome.

Testosterone provides ATP to the Krebs cycle and increases insulin sensitivity. It is arguably a better and more cost effective treatment to type 2 diabetes than the expensive oral agents which come with side effects.

Yes I am a Type 2 diabetic!! Before starting TRT/Cycles I was taking 4 shots of insulin a day plus 10mg Glipizide 2x a day. I was in bad shape!!

Since testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), I no longer need any insulin and rarely take my oral meds. I train about 5 days a week and eat pretty good(High protein and moderate carbs)

I would much rather inject myself with Test 2x a week than Insulin 4x day!! The Test definitely been a godsend for me!!

The research evidence for that is compelling.

Do bodybuilders who on this board may be prone to AAS use need any more liver toxic compounds in their system? Lol

CJW2021 hey bud, I got your PM, but for some reason I don't have the rights to PM. I dont know if its cause Im a rookie or what, but its pretty fuckin stupid if thats the case.:wtf:

Anyway to your question:

Never had any issues with blood sugar highs while blasting. The highest amount of Test I have run was 750mg for 8 weeks with other compounds.

I'm also a type 2 and have been training for a few years but have now reached the stage where I can't grow anymore and have been looking at steroids. Which ones do you take and how often?

Yes, it is because you are a noob. It keeps spammers from singing up and blasting the whole board with spam via PM. You will be able to PM after a few more posts I think.

Right here is pretty damn compelling evidence.

It helped me greatly, around the end of Oct. 2011 I had a blood test done and my blood glucose was a 270. I was about to be put on sugar meds but, my doc gave me 3 months to fix it with diet and exercise. By January I was able to get my fasting blood glucose down to 97 on my blood test so just barely within normal range, I hadn't started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) yet so on avg. it was in that range before testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but, of course during the day after eating it could get high 120's, 140's depending on what I ate.

In February 2012 I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), now my fasting blood glucose can be anywhere in the 60's and 80's. I don't really even check it regularly anymore. The other day I checked my blood glucose 1-2 hr after every meal from fasting, it was 66 at fasting and even after eating food (I even had subway / bread) that day it didn't go past 113.

So, I'm definitely seeing improvements in my blood glucose after starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), I wonder what my A1C will be like. Back in January (before TRT) it was a 6.4 so still higher than normal range. I'll probably get another test done next month.

Keep us updated on your BG levels. I will do the same after I have some time on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). I have logged hundreds of blood glucose meter tests so I'm very cognizant of what different foods do to me. How long did it take to start to notice improved BG numbers?
Thanks!

I noticed it pretty quick, I haven't tested it lately but, on my last blood test my IGF (insulin like growth factor) was out of range high - 347, so I think I'm doing ok. Actually thought about checking it today, will probably check tomorrow. Here's a log of my fasting BG levels:
