Already learned a lot from reading the forum and im hoping you could help me out with something.
I'm looking to build strength/size in my neck and upper traps. for what im talking about google "John Smit Springboks".
I do a lot of front BB raises and shrugs but cant seem to get the size where im looking for it.

i actually train my neck n have for some time. my neck is around 19 1/2 in. what i do is isometrics for all four sides then place a towel on top of a plate a 45 for me n lay flat on my back on the bench with my head n neck hanging over the end. i place plate on forhead with towel for cushioning. lower ur head down till ur chin is pointing at the ceiling then raise till ur at top squeese repeat for 4 sets of 12. isometrics u just stand up n place ur hand flat on the side of ur head place resistant against head n move it against ur hand. do all four sides using two hands for front n back they make machines for this but dont like them the necks natural movement is to turn slightly at bottom of movement machine doesnt.

Direct neck training IMO is badass, although I prefer using a machine to a headstrap or isometrics but if it works - it works.

Jump shrugs and even heavy shrugs stopped working for me when I got injured, I used to shrug very well with 600 pounds but now stay light and keep the reps high. I can't even really do barbell shrugs, I have to use a machine (makes it like a dumbell shrug), I like reps in the 15-25 range.

Remember deadlifts too of course.
