Wellbutrin (SSRI)... and a cutting cycle.

I suffer from depression and will probably need to get on SSRI soon, most likely wellbutrin.

I need to drop some pounds, so I also want to go on a Test only cutting cycle soon.

Question..

1. Anyone take SSRI, particularly Wellburtin?
2. Were you able to drop weight on it?

Do you have any ideas what the root of the depression is? Have you had your TT, LH and FSH check to see if you could be hypogonadal?

Before you go and just hop on an SSRIs I would look into that, because SSRIs, at the end of the day, do nothing but mask the problem, are unhealthy and have a negative impact on natural Testosterone production.

Take if from someone who has used them in the past, SSRIs don't fix a situation. Don't let any physician tell you otherwise or convince you you need them. Look into lifestyle changes, diet changes, the possibility of needing TRT.

To answer your question though. Side effects include weight gain or weight loss. I would say more times then not a person will lose weight. SSRIs can curb appetite. You could also gain weight on them as well as some of them can cause bloating, not sure about Wellbutrin specifically.

interested to hear his results.

Wellbutrin ramps up your metabolism via norepinephrine increase so it will actually aid fat loss.
Can also be used to recomp in the right situation...pretty awesome drug in my book.

The last time I tested my T it was in the 400 (about 6 weeks after PCT)... previous to that it was in the 200's.

Im going to see a doc regarding TRT next week, but he seems to think 200 is low but normal, from preliminary discussions.... im 39 yo.

I have been previously diagnosed as bipolar... I cycle only Test for the most part, and rarely have mental issues when on cycle

what makes it an awesome drug? I used to be on it a few years ago and felt it maybe helped but i can't really recall.

I take Zoloft (SSRI) and am currently doing my first cycle (500mg TestE a week, 50mg anadrol a day). Everything is going great so far...I've been taking .25mg of arimidex every other day and have clomid for my PCT because nolva interferes with SSRI's competing for the same enzyme and thus reducing its affect. Other than that, I haven't heard much about bad interactions with antidepressants and test although I have heard some people actually say they were able to get off of an antidepressant because of how the test made them feel but I would only do that after consulting with your doctor.

Also, weight gain is associated with many antidepressants and be prepared for a drop in sex drive. Most people rarely start on an antidepressant and have it work first try...most people have to cycle through a few before they find one that works (if any).

It's a strong SNRI & weak SDRI = awesome for body comp

Helps with fat loss (plenty of medical evidence on this)
Helps with nutrient partitioning when bulking.
Has mild positive effects on libido.

All of these are strengthened when you combine Wellbutrin with a few other drugs but I wont go into that in case people do stupid shit and then blame me for it :)

It also has a bunch of negative drug interactions that you'd need to research before experimenting with it.

Try Effexor? I've heard Effexor is good with Nolvadex.

Bro.
As THE mental mod whose tried and failed in life so many times with or without the assistance of a myriad of psychiatrists from an over prescribing lady of Cuban descent who thought more was better, to a white male shrink in Miami who lulled me into benzo blackout resulting in my getting shot to shit, to my new one whose a seriously overweight stoner but does what he s told in that I know what help s me.

Physically staying active, studying constantly any and all thing s that interest me from flying ( I ll never be a pilot...I got one eye) to learning to tear my German turbo s motor down, to totally getting into landscaping my property ( my job involves security, teaching and using various level s of force, weapons, driving tactics, languages when I work overseas) working with plants is cool, quiet...chill pill.

I take the PTSD rx he write s me minimally AS NEEDED.
Lexapro-LOW TO NO DOSE-TRASH THE REST
Adderoll--barter for goods and services.
Xanax--1 or 2 .5 a week to slow my manic (Germanic) brain down...and let me get me more than my usual 3-4 hrs sleep.

Is depression real.? Of course.
Is there a Serat. deficit in some of us...yup.

Rx SSRI s are like throwing darts with the patient suffering waiting for 2 to 6 weeks for the magic to kick in..if it does. If not lets try THIS one next...and maybe hit the bull s eye..or get close.

Like AAS there s no magic pill to un fuck what s fucking with you. Cognitive therapy...finding out what s wrong with your thought patterns is integral.. Until you change your thought s your stuck doing and going about what you think your feelings will allow.
Ur training and that s good. I lift my ass off. I know I m no big sucker but don t want to be as I wear 33 pds gear at work...and I have to be able to move. There s life outside the gym. Take the med but try to stimulate other area s of your life. Staying busy, not dwelling is key. Dr s prescribe meds for the same reason mechanic s put parts on your car...but until you know whats really needed and what s being sold to you or diagnosed and rx to you educate yourself on all the drug s entertained, never read the inserts and learn to fix urself...with a little hgelp.

Sorry for the rant. I take an interest in mental shit cuz I am..but not like I was and like Tesla s song says

there S NEEDS TO BE A CHANGE IN YOUR SCENE, if you not what I mean and you ll be-------

GETTING BETTER EVERY DAY.

u WILL TOO.

so this is a drug you would take just for body composition related goals? or is that just an added benefit to your mental health needs? I have felt down more so than usual and hate the idea of going back on meds...its a pride thing and not wanting to feel like you need something to get better. Perhaps this is one i would revisit though if things don't change

raloxifene? superior to nolva and doesn't interact negatively with ssri's

you could try raloxifene with clomid...also do you think zoloft is helping you?

I've experimented with it for body comp goals, not for mental health.

I've heard a lot of bad things about Wellbrutrin by people who have been on it. All I can tell you about SSRI drugs is my experience with PROZAC. I have been on Prozac since 1987. I am Bi-Polar I and had my first Clinical breakdown in 75'. I am a real case.

Anyway in the early 80's they were investigating using it for dieting because it has the ability to make someone a bit speedy an thus curbing slightly their appetite. This never happened to me. I never had any bad side effects and have been on it to this day. For me it's a life savor. I have ben involved with AAS since 1980. I have not seen any sides in regard to the mix with AAS. I haven't se or had it help my dieting either. I am on a host of meds and have been on a lot of different types and they never had an influence on AAS.

Hopefully this will help only because it is an SSRI medication, however not Wellbrutrin.

I take lexapro and zanex for ptsd. Dropping or gaining weight is no problem with it for me. Self discipline is all you need.
