What are rep points and how do they work?

Just any other forum I would imagine but realistically, it doesn't matter since nobody bothers with rep on here.
The like button is easier to just click on, more visible & makes rep system redundant. There's really no point in having both.

Nah, but seriously. The rep system is used to support someone when they give good advice, if they are friendly, etc. 'Negging' is used when someone gives bad advice or if they may say something you really dislike or disagree with.

However, all this is irrelevant because nobody seems to use the rep system on here anyways

All I know is that Halfwit told me you get 1 rep for every year you're a member. Come November 2014 you'll have at least 3 lol

100 rep points = 1 green bar. I don't know how many green bars equate to rep power, but I do know that the higher your rep power is, the more points you can give/take. As Dre mentioned, you do get an extra power for every year you're a member.
