Where can malt n dex be bought from? Not online, like a regular store, where can I get some from?

Also, what do they taste like, do they taste like simple sugar, all sweet n stuff?

just use oats, oat bran, or wheat germ.

malt and dex are pretty worthless nutritionally, no need for them. They wont kill you, but theres better alternatives.

i always thought mal/dextrose was good to replenish your muscle glycogen after a work out.
if your glycogen needs to be replenished, and you eat any type of carbs, it will become replenished eventually.

The only reason you would need malto/dex would be if youre an endurance athlete like a cyclist, or doing back to back sport specific training sessions and need those stores filled ASAP. If youre just lifting some weights and then going to work, you dont need them to filled immediately.

Its really not a huge deal, its one meal out of the day...very insignificant really. As long as youre getting some protein and carbs (very little fat) youll be fine, regardless of the source.

This is correct in slow digesting carbs will replenish just as good over a 24 hour period. The constant release of insulin is better then a slam bam approach.

Just toss them in your mouth and wash it down with liquid......????

Do you find you are more or less full (stomach) when you do this?

pretty much...i just chew em up. your mouth gets really dry, so you definatly need some liquid with it.

i only do this when im eating a little bit at time (half a cup) and theres no point in cooking them...so it really doesnt have any effect on my fullness.

Go to Bob's Red Mill website and order their steel cut oats

You will never go back to old fashion as these are very small pieces that go down very easy.

My grocery store sells these steel cut oats and they are horrible...but maybe i just dont like steel cut oats.
http://www.netrition.com/mccanns_oats_page.html

they also sell the Bobs Red Mill brand. Ill have to check them out and see if they are any different.

McCann's has some pretty damn good oats also-----It just might be you don't like steel cut so my suggestion won't be of any help.
