What would happen if I gave my Dog steroids.

If you gave your animal anabolic steroids that were not prescribed to it by a veternarian it would be animal abuse, plain and simple.

I see, so are people allowed to give animals steroids for any reason besides medical recovery? For example could I give my show horse steroids for performance?

Why would you want to do such a thing? If it is medically neccessary that a vet would prescribe them. If it is just to get the dog more muscular, that is just plain stupidity.

He's allread on some, there not anabolic. He has a thyroid condition. I feel bad cause I had him fixed. It's not the smartest thing to do. Vet's are just Doctors that flunked medical school. I have a champion Airedale. She will not get fixed.

I only saw "What would happen if.." From the main menu and somehow I knew it would be about giving pets steroids.

Actually I don't see it as animal abuse. How can it be abuse if you're willing to put them in yourself not prescribed by a doctor? Explain. Do different species react differently to steroids than humans? If so,There must be specific steroids made just for dogs. I know those massive fighting pit bulls you see pictures of don't get that muscular naturally.

No not simply for performance, but to enhance recovery for wear and tear from racing for example would be a medically valid reason in some cases.

Is it medically necessary for bodybuilders to use them? I don't think so.

Yes but dog fighting is animal abuse in it's truest form. So if you give your dog steroids for fighting that would constitute abuse.

How about free will? We put ourselves in harm's way by taking medication that in unnecessary and could be potentially harmful. Why would it be ok to do this to another animal? So I assume that you could give your children steroids simply because you give them to yourself? Just because you are willing to do something to yourself doesn't mean that you should be free to do it to someone else.

Yes, there are specific steroids that are prescribed to certain animals to treat specific conditions.

I know of at least a couple multi-millionaire vets that would love to back over you with their Lexus for saying that. :insane2:

I've always wondered how vet steroid companies have an excuse to manufacture such a large quantity of drugs when there are so few legal applications for the product.

If you really want to ask your vet to see what the risks are. Different animals bodies handle different chemicals totally different. Example: A dog can die form eating chocolate, obviously people will not. A dog can become instantly anemic and die form onions, again people will not. A dog can eat 10 lbs of raw chicken and will not get salmonella when we would be in the hospital puking and pissing out of our asses. Also some dogs already have gentic disorders that make them prone to certain cancers that gear might make it worse. Dont mean to rant and rave abou this but I love dogs and have 2 myself. Wouldnt want to see you kill ot fuckup your dog to get him bigger.
