Product of Test

270*15 = 4050.

this is maintenance. 45 minutes of cardio would put you in a nice 500 calorie deficit.[

Looks like I will be having the 18oz NY Strip in the fridge tonight after all. Im not even getting in 4,000 now. Dieting is by far the hardest thing to BBing.

So you say 45 minutes of cardio a day? That would be brutal!

what calorie level are you eating to gain weight?

Last time I bulked to get to around 270lbs I took in 5,000 cal's a day it started to feel uncomfortable and time consuming to say the least.

Ill tell ya where im havin a problem is like this morning for instance. I wake up do my cardio empty stomach and by the timee my first meal comes around it's 10 oclock. I dont get to sleep till 12-1a.m my fiance manages a resteraunt so i try to spend a minute with her before bed. I need at least 8 hrs. sleep so it's causing a problem.

Hey in a previuos pot you told me not to sip my BCAA's during morning cardio but im hearing a lot that do?

Im trying today to just muscle down more cal's in one sitting and make it 4 meals to hit the 4,000 cal mark what you think?

ok 5000 is about what i would have expected you to bulk on. In your previous post it sounded like you were eating less than 4050 to bulk, so you were eating much less than that to cut. If you required upwards of 5000 calories to bulk, you may need even more than the 4050 that i quoted earlier to cut - doing cardio on top of reducing calories will put you in an even further calorie deficit, and you dont want to drop calories too low, especially in the early stages of dieting (performance can suffer, hormones and immune system can suffer, etc). I would err on the side of too many calories rather than too little as long as you dont have a deadline to meet - as long as youre in a caloric deficit you will be losing weight. I would rather lose weight at a slower rate while maintaining or improving my performance than lose weight quickly and have my performance go to shit.

BCAAs are fine during cardio in general, but the idea behind low intensity fasted cardio is the lack of insulin allows you to use fat as the primary fuel source. BCAAs are hyper insulinogenic (produce a lot of insulin), kind of defeating the purpose of doing cardio fasted, on paper anyway. I dont know what people are experiencing in real life. IMO do fasted cardio fasted, if you want to get some carbs and aminos in beforehand go high intensity.

four 1000 calorie meals would be fine, but five 800 calorie meals might be more manageable due to the high number of calories. A 1000 calorie meal with a standard 40/40/20 macro breakdown would put that meal at 100g protein, 100g carbs, 22g fat - which I cant imagine would be too much of a task for a 270 pounder.

Maybe I will stick with BCAA powder and start having a piece of fruit before morning cardio because I can't go low intensity for the life of me when doing cardio. It's like being behind the whell of an F50 and not getting out of 1st gear, not happening. Im hurtin a little today went into my gym and did crazy cardio on empty stomach well except my Var, pseudo and black coffee. I biked for 20 treadmill 20 then dont know what hit me but started Box hopping and boxer type moving. Then got a rush of pain in my neck which isn't to bad and stopped.

When you say mild cardio you thinking like 65rpm?

im guessing you mean on a stationary bike. i have no idea what 65rpm would be equivalent to.

walking on a treadmill at 3-3.5 at a slight incline is a pretty standard recommendation for low intensity cardio. use that as a gauge.

65 rpm means nothing if you dont know the resistance. it's important that you dont overwork yourself during cardio or you will lose musclemass. the most effective way of burning fat is a medium intensity. about 75% heartrate. you will in the start burn a smaller percentage from fat but the total calories will be higher. small peice of a big pie you know.

calorie expenditure stays elevated post-cardio as well when doing higher intensity cardio - not so with low intensity.
