Whats a good target weight for me?

okay so here's the deal...

Right now I'm 6'5", 265 pounds and I have very little to no phsyical strength. I'm a little sick of being out of shape and overweight and i would like to seriously bulk up. I have a pretty good body structure (at least I think so) and want to know what a good target weight would be. I'm not looking for 6pac abs just yet I would just like to put some size on and then cut down.

I have enough money to get on a good food routine, my roommate works out daily (and is in pretty damn good shape - 5'11" 195lbs benches like 300 or so i think) I just need your guys' advice on what to shoot for.

From talking to people that work out I've been told that for my build, around 300 pounds would be good. I'm not *fat* right now but I'm not skinny, and I have a fairly decent sized chest.

I was really planning on working out with my roommate for a few months, getting a routine down and then starting a cycle with him (he's been doing this for... 2 years now?) and seeing what happens.

Now tell me where I'm wrong, please so I can fix it. :)

well at your hieght the more Quality size u are able to put on the better.....it's all personal preference.

but I don't think you should do any cycles untill you have a few solid years of trianing behnid you and know all the risks involved
 
depends on what you want... do you want to be strong? cause your roomates 300 bench is not impressive for weighing in at 195lbs... im 150 and i can hit 300 for 2 (3 if its a good day) i personally would rather be strong than look strong, but there are alot of bb'ers on here who look good and can throw the weight around... personally i'd rather look like a starving ethipoian and weigh under 90lbs and be able to outlift a 200+lb man.... but thats just me

You must be joking... I mean I understand the being storng vs looking strong thing, but still if you looked like that you'd never get any pussy ever. And a man can't live on iron alone.

very few people can lift that heavy without gaining quality mass , if they do its usually a genetic thing keeping them small and changeing their routine to a bb routine isnt gonna help .
besides being small and kicking some wimpy bodybuilder will get you some quality lovin lol

looking strong has nothign to do with getting pussy.
