Where do you get your protein from? How real is your meat?

This white powder sold by the kilo, is the meat industry's dirty little secret. It's called "meat glue." It makes pieces of beef, lamb, chicken or fish that would normally be thrown out stick together so closely that it looks like a solid piece of meat.
So if you want that boost of protein make sure your meat source is for real because it can make you seriously sick if you eat medium rare "steak" their way...

Thoughts anyone???

Doesn't really suprise me - all the stuff on an animal that you don't want to eat is put into pastrami, pepperoni, sandwich fillings, etc anyway - luckily for us here in europe this stuff is banned.
There was another scandal in the UK where the suppliers were using horse meat & labelling it as beef/lamb, etc.

Whenever you buy cheap meat, you always have to ask yourself why its so cheap :)

Thoughts? Not surprising, and disgusting.

Ive heard of fillers being used and whatnot in wieners and sausage, and different parts of the animal (not the part we want to eat) being used but I have never heard of this until now. That's pretty bad. Ive always been very conscious of where I buy my meats, always. You get what you pay for.

Good post

You can imagine that the term, " you are what you eat" really takes on a whole new meaning.... yuk

Its messed up, first they start making things that aren't healthy now theyre taking things that are and making them not. Being unhealthy is what were led to be if we don't take some time to educate ourselves.

Its business, pure & simple.
Why throw away the leftovers from meat/poultry when you can sell it to suppliers for money?
As for the suppliers, its cheaper for them to buy leftovers then it is proper meat.

Let's not pretend that farmers/suppliers give 2 shits about our health :)

That's absolutely what it is I agree.

And its no secret that they don't.

Its all about money, like everything else in this world.
