Hi, I wanted to know which split people thought was better. I am currently doing the following
Day 1 chest/biceps/calves
day 3 legs/shoulders
day 5 back/triceps/traps

or should I do
Day 1 chest/shoulders/tri
day 3 legs/abs/calves
day 5 back/biceps/traps

Or
Day 1 chest/triceps
day 3 back/biceps
day 5 legs/shoulders/calves
which do people think is the better split to give my body the best stress and recovery

Neither of them all... U need to work out more then 3 days IMO, try to spread your workout in a 4-5 day program and evenly lay out the rest days. Try this, Dexter uses this one or something VERY similer.

Mon: chest/bi
tue: legs
wed: rest (or cardio)
thur:back/tri
fri: shoulders/abs
sat: rest
sun: rest (or cardio)

The reason u wont want to do anything like Back + biceps is because when ur working your back you're also using some of your biceps and the workout is then half-assed and not as effective, same with Chest+tri.

Note that your body is constantly adapting and that after 72hours of training a muscle group your body starts to think that you don't need it so much if you don't stress it again. For optimum growth I suggest training each body part more frequently than once every 7 days.

none of the above, do like NWATHLETICS said and make it a 4-5 day workout .

Mon: Chest
Tue: Bi's & Tri's
Wed: Legs
Thur: Shoulder & Back
Fri: Cardio
Sat: Rest
Sun: Rest Or Cardio

After many years of mixing and matching this is what i have found to work best for me. You just need to try different thing to see what works best for you

I don't think you should train bi's and tri's on the same day b/c one gets too weak before u train the other..

Thats cool, buts thats why i said try different thing to see what works best for you. that just happens to work best for me.

hey bro--

if your set on keeping a 3 day split--

day 1 -- chest/bi's/traps
day 3 -- back/shoulders/triceps
day 5 -- quads/hams/calves
