Why do I always feel constipation & bloating?

I always feel bloated, but can't seem to shit on a regular schedule. I go days without taking a dump most days. Usually 3-4 days in between. I'm eating plenty of veggies, I'm getting plenty of exercise and I even supplement whole psyllium husk in every protein shake I drink. 2 tablespoons 2-3 shakes per day.

Before anyone says maybe it's too much psyllium husk causing this it's like this with or without the husk. Seems to have little or no effect. Whats funny is that I seem to be able to unload on the weekends. Im thinking it has something to do with my nervous system. On the weekends I get more sleep and don't have to wake up at 330am, but I have no idea.

Anyone have any suggestions or has anyone had this problem?

eat alot more fiber, beans will do wonders for you, the more organic the better. Fruits will also do the trick AND the most important of all DO NOT EAT FAST FOODS or microwave foods! fast foods are the number 1 cause of constipation. I once ate an entire Dominos pizza and I did not take a dump for two days. where did it all go? it just stays in your bowels and decomposes slowly and thats where bacteria has a party and makes you sick, and it also triggers cancer cells that are in the foods to begin their thing. stay away from soft drinks as well especially anything that says DIET, thats the worst stuff to drink. if possible have a checkup done by a doctor you trust.

Pretty much exactly what he said. I am the same way as you man some days I wont go and then others I will go twice and I noticed that once I started eating these high fiber tortillas here recently and a bit more broccoli everything is working well and I love it.

Edit: Also black beans.

Any opiate use Captain? Even some of the weaker pain killers will cause quite the backup. If you're over 30, it might be time to entertain the idea of visiting a proctologist.

FWIW, I had a similar problem, and eating a big salad every day had me visiting the throne on a consistent basis. Might want to check out the thyroid too - being hypo can delay the process as well.

My .02c :)

Circadian rhythm disturbances, basically the constant changes in sleep duration & time, can have an impact on your bowel movement schedule.
This fits with you sleeping normally & having normal movements on weekend but not during the week with abnormal sleep patterns.

Halfwit's medication point is also something to consider.

I can attest to irreregular sleep paterns affecting bowel movements. When i work night shift its once a day when i flip back over to a normal scedule ill go 3-4 times in one day.

A probiotic supplement and/or digestive enzymes might be worth looking into

Thanks for all of the responses. I do not drink anything other than water 99% of the time. I have soda only when we eat out. I am not on any medication. My wife has hypothyroidism, so I know about that causing issues. We have many conversations in our house about not being able to shit!

I have a busy life with work and kids etc and I try to get in bed by 9pm every night, but I'm usually up by 330am. Not much I can do about that. It's only going to get worse because I'm going back to school soon to get my degree.

It sucks because eve. When I do go it never feels like it's all out. Maybe a dr visit is what's needed. I'll be 39 in april. Maybe it's time to send the camera up the butt a year early?

I've looked at the probiotics before, but didn't pull the trigger. It's worth a try.

2-3 pills of gingerroot ed, adds hunger and helps many with that. turmeric also

So I've been taking 2 ginger root capsules 3 times a day since late yesterday. Not only have I been bloated all day, but now I've been ripping ass all day that smells so bad the paint is peeling off of my walls.

Couple suggestions cause I used to have similar problems.
First, get into a routine. Sit at ur desk for half an hour or so with the intention of going to the washroom. Sounds odd but I go at the same times everyday.
Second, try coffee. It's like I finish a cup and I'm sitting down then time to go.
Third, try cutting out certain foods from ur diet. Specifically dairy. I found that once I stopped eating dairy on the regular all my problems were solved. Also certain foods with way too much fiver can cause constipation. More is not always better with fiber.
Hope this helps, bloating is the worst!!

dairy is good for you as long as its organic, its that processed crap that they sell with the label dairy that fools you'll and clogs you up. fresh milk right out of the cows utter is the way to go and youll see it WILL NOT make you constipated and will turn you into a beast.
