Why wont the doctors help me?

Also, I do my own testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because I brew my own stuff, it's a fraction of the cost, and then I just get blood work and it's always good even on a heavy cycle of test/tren/var etc. I'm not recommending that, but it's just what I do, but I'm 33, not 21.

That's not true here in the U.S. Here it depends on your insurance company policy. Mine doesn't require a referral for ANYTHING. I sometimes just pay cash anyway and no referral needed there either. Funny thing is I go to the docs, I ask what it the price with insurance? Then I ask what is the cash price? I usually save 1/4 to 1/3 paying cash... I don't know how it works in Canada etc.

I see. In Canada you need the referal. That is a bonus for you in the US.

Im getting some bloodwork tomorrow covering everything concerning low testosterone, this is basically the make or break test for me.
The problem is that ive gotten some form of flu. Will this infection interfere in any way? should i postpone?

Do it when your body is 100%.

Nudered,

I feel your pain bro. I feel the angst in response to some lame-ass know all want to be god in an office doctor claiming that you are depressed and that a shrink can help your lethargy. I know your feelings. It is all ridiculous. Clearly something is physiologically wrong. Apparently these doctors all bought the body-mind dichotomy to the point where they think an invisible disease of the mind can overtake the entire body. It is because their "tests" aren't accurate enough to show the true abnormalities going on in the body that are causing the depression. Sure, some depression is self induced, but most is not. Find a new doctor that is open minded and not a smart ass big shot cunt. I know those doctors too well- but at the same time I've found solace in some good doctors. As far as test goes - you'll just have to try it for yourself once you get a legal prescription. You may react poorly to it (especially if SHBG is low). You are essentially at the bottom of the barrel desperate to try something - and with the varicocele it is very possible that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can help. I don't know how many members on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) here can attest to the raging horn dog feeling lasting forever on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) - but for many here it seems to do the job.

Just came back from the doc.

S-Testo - 19nmol/l
S-SHBG - 14nmol/l
S-FSH <1
S-LH 2.6
S-Progesterone 1.3nmol/l
S-Prolactin 33ug/l
S-DHEAS 5.2µmol/l (3.3-13.9)
S-Albumin 41g/l (36-48)

Comparing this to the results on my first post makes no sense to me, i thought FSH and LH regulated the testo levels but they stayed the same while s-testo increased.

Oh and yea, prolactin levels were skyhigh. I had 33ug/l and normal levels are 3-19. He said he wanted to check for tumours but i shouldnt worry because this is probably a miscalculation. Hell, this whole test seems like a miscalculation for me

Bro some people are just built that way. there are polar opp's to everything in life including people that are wired and dont shut up and people like us that are calm and our pulse hardly ever raises. im the same way you are bro. my blood pressure is even low 92/56. docs say it better low then high. but i hardly ever get worked up and I rarely show high emotion. its who i am and i except it. people thought i was depressed but its just the way im built. people always tell me that I dont give a shit about anything, cuz my lack of motivation or excitement but I just dont show it like everyone else. I beleive the clinical term for this is "ataraxia"

Hey N-dog,
Unfortunately that's the word we live in as far as "Doctors" nowadays just waiting to turn individuals down if they apear to be "drug-seekers." You have a legitamate concern/problem and your not being taking seriously. The second thing is the age. As said in above posts there may be a DR. somewhere out there that is willing to help. Maybe in the meantime try some Tribulus and do some research on a physician that is willing to help. I wish you luck in the journey and keep us posted please.

Hello all.

A little short about me - I am 21 year old male, workout regularly, eat healthy and have never had any medical conditions or problems so far. Never used any roids or similar things.

I have long suspected low T levels due to my current life situation. I am very easily irritated and i have absolutely no motivation or initiative to do anything, life is just 'bleh' to me.
Not long ago i decided to check up on my varicocele which i have had for 6 years (I am 21 years old right now) because i read that it is possible that it can reduce testicle size and thus reducing testosterone levels with it. The doctor said that the varicocele was larger than normal and that the testicle was nearly twice as small as the right one.

I insisted on getting my blood done so i could be sure if my suspicions were right, if my testosterone indeed were low. My doctor claimed that testicle size had very little to do with testosterone and that my levels should be unaffected even if one testicle was not working, but agreed to do the test anyway.

The doctor contacted me one month later and said that my levels were completely normal except for FSH which was a little low but that i was otherwise healthy. He posted the test results to me so i could check it out for myself because i still wasn't entirely convinced that everything was OK.

S-Testosterone 11 nmol/L - (10-35)
S-SHBG 21 nmol/L (13-71)
S-FSH 0.9 IE/L (1.4-18)
S-LH 2.8 IE/L (1.5-9,3)

Is this considered normal? Im not sure how the doctors define 'normal' but being in the low end of the interval when you are 21 does not seem normal to me. The bioavilable testosterone is 6.49 which is also in the very low end.

What options do i have if the doctors deny me? Can i self testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) successfully? I dont care about muscle, i just want my glow back!

ND,
There is nothing worse than feeling down and out and feeling helpless because nobody will give you any solution or ways to cure your ailment. I have been in your shoes before and have hit bottom before.
It would be ideal if you could get a physician to be open minded and give you some serious help or resources to fix you.
I would continue to pursue other physicians or endocrinologists and find one who is not arcane in his/her diagnosing and addressing health issues that point to low T or hormonal imbalance. In the meantime I strongly suggest finding a good amino acids product, fish oils, multivitamin, etc, and at least have the foundation to help make improvements for you. Perhaps a test booster will help you as well. Do some research on horny goat weed, maca, and stinging nettle root. These may help you out while you continue to look for a physician who will finally help you out.
