Will high BP prevent me from donating blood?

My Bp, on cycle presently, is around 145/80. Im currently running Test E/ and Eq. Being older, i'm sure my rbc and hematocrit are elevated. Anyone have any experience with this? If I'm declined I'm cutting way back on my horse juice and doubling my asprin....

All I know is what I've read on here, but I def think you can give blood, even with high bp. Also, doing so should help your bp come down a bit.

Yes, if your bp is high they will not take blood. Mine has been high the last couple of times i went to donate. i explain that i was almost in an accident on the way over and schmooze the nurse. Whatever works for ya.....

Thanks guys. The Red Cross site said they'd take vital signs . I figured most of us donating on cycle will have elevated bp, but there must be a cutoff point. Just checked again prior to workout and it was 149/78, Ill have my high stress bs story at the ready. I do like the near miss car crash one. So im 9 wks into the Test E/Eq. Donate Tuesday then get a panel done Friday to see where Im at. If alls well Ill go for 16 wks. If not I cut back and it'll be 12 wks, not enough time for the EQ from what I've read.

I know Commit for Life won't take it if it is over 150/95. I was battling high blood pressure for a bit and it turned out to be Tylenol PM. Drugs like that can drive up BP. I started taking fish oil pills three times a day and it has seemed to drop my BP couple points.

Your BP is not high. Only the second number really matters (diastolic). The first number is highly variable and can change by recent activity status. You BP is basically normal.
