Would a larger more muscular man need more test than a small runner type

This has come up before, and when I researched it I concluded that blood volume is proportional to body weight and serum concentration is inversely proportional to blood volume, so - yes - it stands to reason that a heavier person needs more test to achieve the same concentration.

As for body composition, you would need a more sophisticated model of the relationship of different tissue types to blood volume, not sure if that data exists.
 
I vaguely remember a thread 3J made about this topic.

As mprtz stated, there is sufficient data to say that in general the bigger you are in terms of height/weight, the more test you need.
There is absolutely zero credible evidence for higher doses being required if you have more muscle or body composition changes in general.

My educated guess would be that muscle mass as an isolated factor plays far too small a role in influencing the endocrine system compared to general weight gain, therefore more muscle per se doesnt equal higher doses.

Basically, a larger height/weight ratio equals higher doses but not simply more muscle on the same height/weight frame.

So if Shaq suffered from low T he may need 300-400 a week vs a horse jockey who may be fine on 100
 
Lol interesting analogy.

In general, yes that would be correct taking into consideration slight genetic differences in terms of how people react to different test doses.
