    Shoulder pain

It could be that you have tightness in the rotator cuff interval. This can happen to lifters who do a lot of pressing. The muscles of the chest and in particular the pec minor pull the shoulder forward. This can be eased by developing the muscles which keep the shoulder blade retracted. I know...

    Shoulder pain

You say you've got a pain in your deltoid but you don't say which part. The shoulder is a complex and highly unstable joint. Your pain may be due to injury of a particular part of the joint whether that is bone, tendon, muscle or whatever. It might also be due to imbalance between one muscle and...

    shoulder injurie, need help

If you had the MRI and your doctor has cleared you of structural damage and all you have is tendonitis... you're lucky. Do what he tells you. What until the pain and inflammation subside. Take what you're prescribed. Do the required therapy and come back nice and slow. Do all of that and you'll...

You might want to add more green leafy vegetables. I agree with Blueberries. As an Aussie, can I suggest Kakadu Plums as well.

For sure, but there's always going to be some pain that we just got to live with. Some people like that.

    Cold Water Bath PWO?

The principle still applies. When I said "taking the heat out" that included reducing inflammation. That should go some way to reducing pain. Also, cold can be an analgesic. However, at some point, training just hurts. If it was easy, then everybody would be doing it.

    Cold Water Bath PWO?

I understand the water need only be as low as 12 degrees celsius (53.6F). Cold water out of the tap might not be that cold depending on where you live. Still, a cold shower can take a good deal of the heat out of you.

    Cold Water Bath PWO?

Yes I heard the same thing and have used the protocol for heavy work outs. I found it very helpful. Decrease in fatigue and DOMS. Better recovery all around. It is winter here and certainly not as cold as it gets in the US or Europe but my dedication to the cold shower bit has wavered.

    Squats - any alternative?

Yeah, it looks like I'll be lining up to use the leg press machine with everyone else.

    Squats - any alternative?

Thank you for the thoughtful and knowledgeable comments. Front squats are no good, unless I do a weight as light as I do on normal squats. There are lots of exercises which will give the legs a good burn. Among these are lunges, leg press, extensions, curls and of course dead lifts and even...

    Squats - any alternative?

I love squats. I agree they are the one indispensable exercise in any strength program. Unfortunately, I can't do them anymore. I have had shoulder surgeries which mean that I cannot do heavy squats anymore. In fact, I am barely allowed to do light squats. I have tried all sorts of variations...
