1080 Test from 100mg/Wk?

Ok, so I have been just under 5 weeks on 50mg 2xWk of Test Cyp. Just got my labs back and they look like this:

Free Test: 640
Total Test: 1080

Does that seem high to anyone but me? Here's a snapshot of the results, cuz I just can't believe it's correct.

FWIW, I was on a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol of 100mg 2xWk for about 9 months and my total test hovered around 900. I came off to have a kid (wife's pregnant now) and got back on at HALF the amount, but even higher total test. The only difference is that this time I have injected ONLY subQ, and last time it was only IM.

Any thoughts?

Wow, that's a crazy free test number! My doc is shitting kittens with my free test being 312 (upper range is 155). You respond really well to androgens, that's for sure! I bet you feel great!

There are a couple mysteries here:

1. Why is my free test so high (it's crazy)
2. Why is my total test higher with 100mg injected SQ vs 200mg injected IM

I feel great. All I want to do is be a perv and lift heavy things, but I want to be safe.
Yeah, as long as your doc is cool with your numbers, I say run with it and enjoy life as it's meant to be enjoyed! Glad to see you're benefiting so well from TRT. :D

1. You may have lowered SHBG due to an increase in androgens. This is something I'm personally trying to figure out myself as I've always had an in-range Free test myself, but for some reason it skyrocketed recently. The only negative I can think of is that more free test may equate to higher aromatization, so keep an eye on your estradiol levels.

2. I have no clue why subq would give you higher values since the only real difference is that IM has a faster absorption rate versus subq. The human body is one strange machine.

I haven't actually talked to my doc yet. I JUST got my labs today and had them fax them over right away. He's an endo, but he doesn't know about TRT.

At least I have confirmed completely (to myself anyways) that SQ works just as well, if not better, than IM. It's SOOOO much easier, don't know why anyone on a normal testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose (less then 200mg/wk) wouldn't do SQ. So much better.

It's sad and funny at the same time how little "specialists" really know when it comes to male hormone management. Hopefully he at least listens to you and is willing to work with your suggestions!

Yeah, there are a lot of guys on other boards that rave about how good subq injections are compared to IM. I personally don't want to do it just because of the higher volume of test I use as it would require several injections to match a single IM pin, but if it works for you - that's awesome! :)

Was your previous blood test taken at the same time relative to your last injection? If not, that may help explain the difference.

Yeah, it was the same. It's crazy, the only differences are that this time I'm not taking an Aromatase inhibitor (AI), not taking HCG, and injecting SQ.

Maybe you have some residual natural production that hasn't been completely shut down yet. What was your level when you started up again? Did you do a post cycle therapy (pct) for fertility purposes?

I bet you feel great, but I would be concerned keeping your levels that high indefinitely. If your doc has no experience with TrT then frankly I would not listen to him/her. The goal of TrT is to stay in a healthy range.

I myself violate this principle as well as having test at those levels feels great, but won't do you good long term.

Did you get the test from a doctor/compounding pharmacy or UgL? One issue you may have is it is misdosed. Have you used the same vial or different vials?

Also, why are you using it sq instead of im?

Nice to meet you over the board and hope to be able to help (usual disclaimers apply, i am not a dr, this is not medical advice, etc etc).

1080 is not high! the standard range goes to 1100 , you are optimal ! like a 19 year old , if your hemoglobin and hematocrit and total blood cell volume is good you should stay the course

bhrees, that is fair. I am almost 38 so my doc is targeting mmore like 800...i have run as high as over 1500 (basically the test just said over 1500) when i was running 800/mg week of test. Fair point.

If you are worried about you doc, retest right before your next pin. Same day if possible.
