There was no denying that zane was smaller. That was his trademark. Zane represented what bodybuilding should be about! A pleasing, well balanced and conditioned male physique. 'Mass' does not necesarily mean 'better'.

Mentzer was ostracised for his scientific and philisophic approach to body building -- he wanted every bodybuilder to be their own scientist and not take for gospel what the weider corperation magazines produced.

This is why he did not win 80 olympia -- which is sad as it really broke his spirit and basically he went into hiatus and when he came back he looked like a very broken man --unfortunatly and then one of the greats died and left us
