1mg ED Arimidex Monotherapy as TRT at 22 Years old

Hey everyone,

I lurk around the forums more than I post but I haven't been able to find much info on this. My latest lab results from memory (don't have the results with me):
Total test: 295 (330-900)
Free test: 7.2 (9- )
E2 - 33.6 ( Need to check the low range but its in the 20's-42)
LH - Just below normal
FSH - Just below normal
Pituitary MRI and Testicular ultrasound all came back normal
I've been diagnosed with secondary Hypogonadism

My Uro started me on Clomid, 25mg ED and I had crazy mood swings, stopped it for two weeks then cut the dose to 12.5mg EOD but was still showing side effects.

He pulled the plug on the clomid and is starting me on Arimidex 1mg ED. From everything I have read this is a very high dose to begin while on a cycle, not to mention my E2 levels already being within range.

Does anyone have any experience with this dosage??

1mg ED of adex is going to crush your E2. You'll probably end up feeling worse than you did to begin with...Your doc doesn't seem to know what he's doing.

That's beginning to be what I think as well. I have seen only 1 person on the net who used 1mg ED lol

Problem is every Uro in the Orange County, CA area has referred me to him because he is the only one in the area who will do T and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) injections (Trying to remain fertile for later in life)... He is leaving that as the third and last option, but he easily switched me from Clomid to Arimidex so I'm fairly certain if I call and complain about the Arimidex he'll switch me over to the T injections.

Hopefully you are right cause no way i would use dex for this purpose...esp long term. Id be shocked aat any Dr that would to be honest. Long term Aromatase inhibitor (AI) administration in males is uncharted territory. There are other proven and proven ssafe long term options that would be better for sure.

He prescribed the Arimidex to me yesterday, but I'm going to call him in an hour, tell him I'm uncomfortable with the drex, and see if he's ok with switching over to T inj and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) if not then I'll take it for a week, end up feeling like shit and then call him and tell him that lol

At least I have an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) scrip with refills for when I start T haha

Definitely hold onto the script...Don't crush your E2...it's not fun at all. Give him a call.

I know someone who was trying to get his wife pregnant and had Low T. He was put on Arimidex only -- about 1mg per day like you. It did in fact increase his T and it didn't crash his E2. He felt better doing this protocol, but not great.

Once his wife got pregnant he switched over to Test Cyp injections. He felt a lot better on that. The strange part was that he couldn't tolerate nearly that much arimidex anymore. Even .25mg twice a week was crashing his E2. So he had to back off it quite a bit.

So somehow your body reacts differently to the arimidex in these two protocols.

Not a good Idea to do this, someone would need consistent monitoring of skeletal health with DEXA scans if you went this route.

So I called him today and spoke to his nurse, waiting on a call back. Yea I saw a lot on Bone Density issues and the effect it would have long term. I hope he lets me switch over to T and HCG. I really don't want to have to search for another Uro lol

My latest lab results came in from last Friday (Only TT) standing at 250 (350-1100) - which is also my lowest draw yet

I also just got a call back from the Drs. office - Originally he wanted me on the Adex for 4 weeks, but he is asking me to be on it for 2 weeks now and get my blood drawn. I agreed for sake of not arguing with him and pissing off the only uro in my area who would scrib test and HCG.

I took my first 1mg pill yesterday to test how my body reacts to it and I woke up with knee pain. I do have previous injuries in my knees from playing waterpolo for 8 yeats so I don't want to jump and point it being the Adex right away.

If I have continuous pains I'm going to start cutting down the dosage.

Just as a side question, has anyone heard of acupuncture 'restarting' your system in secondary cases? I don't really believe in techniques like this but my GP has been pushing for me to try it...

Just wanted to give an update on whats going on

After three weeks on 1mg Arimidex ED my lab results came back as
TT: 460 (350-1100)
E2: 8 (11-50)
LH: 1.8 (below normal)
FSH: 4.8 (In normal range)

Even though my Total Test is up I ended up feeling worse, presumably because of the bottomed out E2 levels. Energy levels were worse and libido crashed.

I am scheduled to get a semen analysis (because I want kids) and then freeze some for the future just incase.

But after I get through that process I am starting with 200 mg Test injections/ week and 500iu Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) every other day.
