Hey everyone. Just registered. Im a collegiate athlete. And have been for 2 years now. I want to start on anavar to thin out because I always bulk up when in training instead of lose weight! Anyways, I have a few questions/concerns I was hoping to get answered before I start a cycle: is this going to effect my pregnancy later on in life? Im currently on birth control..is the anavar going to effect that? Is my age a big problem? Is this going to mess with my endocrine system as I've read it does with guys? Any and all comments are appreciated. Thank you!

Hey, welcome to the boards!

Firstly I don't use any anabolics but from reading extensively think I can have some input. Anavar like any steroid will 'add' muscle, you will get bulkier not thinner. You sound like you add fat and muscle which would suggest to me your diet needs looking at. Eating healthy and eating to get leaner are not always the same.

Post your diet up. And your training, that would help get you the best advice. 20 sounds young to start gear..

Welcome Mj :)

As Detour said, I think you are too young to start a cycle, You can achieve your goals with the right diet/training...
You can check out our diet forum, there's very good info posted there.
There are always possible sides with Anavar (var), as far as birth control it wouln't affect the effectiveness of birth control, but it could affect your menstrual cycle.

I suggest you post your stats/ age, weight, height & what your diet & training look like, so we could better advise u.

good luck :)

just a tidbit, I have retained a bit of water on 10mg of var...I was actually slimmer without it....go figure

me too!

but that also depends on what I eat, I do cycling so when I eat less carbs I dont retain water, and when I carb up that day I gain about 6lb as water in muscles!

Same thing happened to a friend of mine... She increased her water intake, lowered he sodium & this seem to helped her.

I'm kindda of the same way Sivanovi,
I totally believe I'm carb sensetive, I really have to watch the amount of carbs I eat, or I feel like a water ballon with legs ..lol

So far I am the same way with the water retention. Today wasn't bad, but yesterday was terrible. My ankles looked like was pregnant with pre-ecclampsia. :-/
I'm gonna keep going though and just watch my sodium and keep increasing water.
But as what Jenner said...I am so far also slimmer without it. But I am actually doing it to gain some weight/muscle

just watch out for any muscle stiffness, when you lower your sodium. I lowered my sodium, really wathched what I ate and experienced shin pain. Lack of electrolytes in your body can cause muscle stiffness so see how you feel on lower sodium, but depending on how much you train and sweat you might have to take potassium supplement or bump up your sodium a bit.
I dont eat a lot of sodium to begin with and I naturally prespire more, but with taking Anavar (var) I definetly train harder, which caused muscle stiffness and shin pain.
added some sodium (not much) and some potassium to my supplements and it feels better.

It means you have a lot of muscle Mrs. P, and thats a beautiful thing.
In the book I told you about Chris Aceto expains about carbs and water retention. he mentiones that a body builder on carb cycling diet and his high carb day can gain 5lb and more in water since water is reqired to make glycogen from carbs.

I always google him, and go on his sites, he has many amazing free articles on food and training. :wiggle:

That's true, I meant it more if they are eating a high soium diet, processed food has so much sodium..

oh yaaa, no I dont eat anything processed, and canned as well. The only time I would get canned stuff is when I carb up and I want easy access to amazing carbs- beans!!
