25 year old survivor, TRT log

Hi all. I just wanted to officially start a TRT log now that my first injection of testosterone is flowing through my body. I plan to update this thread with my experiences and how I am feeling as I go through the intial stages of my TRT journey. I want to thank Megatron for being so helpful and putting my mind at ease multiple times.

Back story: I am 25 y/o, my test levels are 300 ng/dl, I had testicular cancer when I turned 18 and lost my right ball, went through chemo for 4 months, and now, 6 years later, everything is fine except for low testosterone levels. I have always felt the effects of low T ever since I had cancer and I am sick and tired of it.

I am tired, irritable, highly sensitive, awful memory, difficulty putting on any muscle (I have been lifting consistently for almost 2 years and my strength has barely increased), and my sense of well being is plummeting by the day.

My protocol at the moment is 50 mg of testosterone injected subcutaneously every 3.5 days with a 31g 5/16'' insulin syringe. In one month, after my initial blood work, I plan to start 250 iu of HCG every 3.5 days. I want to remain fertile so I can have kids down the road.

Anyways, first injection went pretty good. I drew and injected with the 31g and it was not dull at all when injecting. I went into my left glute, with my left non dominate hand. I can not believe how painless the injection was, though the plunger took a while to completely go down. I have minor stinging on my glute when I sit, but it has been 30 minutes and the pain is almost gone. I plan to do my quad next time, and then maybe my delt. I am beyond excited to start seeing my symptoms go away and I can really enjoy life.

Well, that is it for now, will update periodically!

another survivor here, will follow along and support you in your run! We are within the same boat, so sparring seems ideal.

What type of test is it?

Test Cyp. Thanks for following guys, I am so excited for my second shot this Sunday haha. I have placebo energy rush the morning after my first shot. Good stuff.

**Update**

So I have been on TRT for almost 8 weeks now. My protocol for the first 6 weeks was 50mg of test. every 3.5 days. I have been doing sub q injections using a 31g 5/16'' insulin needle. Here is my blood work after 6 weeks:

Total Testosterone 339 NG/DL
Free Testosterone 85.1 PG/ML
ESTRADIOL 25 PG/ML
DHEA-S 203 MCG/DL
PSA 1.15 ng/mL
PROLACTIN 15.91 ng/mL

My test. was at 350 before I started TRT, so as you can imagine, I am disappointed thus far since my levels are the exact same. I feel the same as I did pre trt. If anything, I have more anxiety and I have noticed I am a bit clumsy and have been knocking things over daily. I never used to do this.

Anyways, my endo. doctor has upped my dosage to 70mg every 3.5 days, and I also started 250 iu of HCG every 3.5 days as well. This is my new protocol and I will get more blood work in 5 weeks.

I am hoping that this new protocol will get my test. levels up a lot higher and then I can start feeling the positive effects of TRT. I have to be patient, but I am very eager to start feeling good again. I also hate using my 31g insulin needles, as it takes forever to inject, and I have to use a lot of pressure on the plunger which is annoying. I have just ordered a box of 27g .5 inch insulin needles, which should make my life easier. Thanks and will update after my next blood work.

I decided to do sub q because I saw no reason not to do it. The needles are tiny, and it seemed much easier to inject with an insulin needle rather than a 1.5" harpoon. The blood work was taken on the morning of my nightly injection. I inject Sunday morning and Wednesday night, so it is my trough level.

Unless you are really fat, even a half inch needle should be plenty for an IM injection. 1.5" should only be used for Glute injections, but I still prefer 1" for glutes.

I agree.
though I may do subq in long run aswell, but for now IM.

Great to hear you are starting to feel better op! : )

Thanks but I am not feeling better as I explained in my previous post! My levels are the same as they were pre TRT. I still have all the symptoms I had pre TRT. I am hoping to start feeling the effects of TRT soon, though.
