308Power is Back from the Dead

Congrats on recovering so fast bro. You sound super hungry to get back at it! Just be smart and you will crush and old PR. I have been set back myself with medical shit and I always come back stronger and grow as a person every time.

I didn't tear and muscles, ligaments or tendons but I completely shattered my lower right leg. Just at the start of coming back to life myself. Awesome to see someone at your level overcoming such an injury.

Just feel like is pointless if you dont have a dream or goal to work towards!

Honestly, you're an example of doing it right. I felt sorry for myself and let my muscles atrophy to nothing while consuming stupid quantities of painkillers when I had my knee surgeries many years ago. It makes me very happy to see you not only jump right back into that saddle, but overcome an injury that frankly can seriously change your quality of life.

Totally agree, that having a goal makes a world of a difference. I hope others in a similar situation can learn from your experience and benefit as I know I would have in my moment of weakness. :)

Wow thanks Halfwit! I'm just doing what I love and I have a passion for success. If I have the ability to lead someone in the right direction or to help others by my struggles, it makes it all worth it. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe someone with far better genetics than I needed a smack on the ass to get them moving.

Wow just found this thread and read it completely. Way to go with recovery and getting back in the sadle. Sounds and looks like ur a beast with great Knowledge. Ill b watching and following ur progress. Nice to meet you and best of luck.

For when I throw up. That is my assigned can. I have to have it with me when I squat due to past disturbances.

Thanks man. Never noticed it. Realized I growl too. None of those are conscious sounds haha.

That's what I though - never done legs soo much I threw up, but I've collapsed while walking :p

Is not as fun as you would think. Just a sympathetic nervous response I am both blessed and cursed with. I flip a mental switch before my sets. Your body increases heart rate and respiration and takes blood supply away from your digestive organs to prepare yourself for what is about to come.

When the set stops and you relieve the stimulus that has placed you in the fight or flight mode, your body shuttles blood back to the digestive organs as fast as possible. This causes a pretty big disturbance at times and can lead to the exhumation of whatever items are within the stomach. The pressure from the belt and valsalva maneuver does not help the situation much.

You just get used to it after a while. Normally only a problem on sets over 5 reps or above 90% for me. It happens though.

Gone from squatting 405 for 8 to 500 for 8, dont know exactly how long that took. I think 5 weeks though. Dont want to post video for obvious reasons.

Can you please PM me a vid of you repping 500lbs while wearing an Ernie suit? :D

What the fuck? How do you know I have an ass tattoo? Do we actually know each other in person?

I've got eyes everywhere 308....EVERYWHERE! Hahaha.

You're obviously getting back to where you were before but how's the knee feeling this time around? Do you feel your knee is the weak link now or you just need to work on conditioning and you'll be back to your previous strength levels without the knee being an issue?
