4 weeks into TRT with Test Cyp, still not feeling effects. Could it be low SHBG?

Hey Guys,

I'm hoping to get some insight here. I have been taking Test Cyp, HCG, and Anastrozole from an anti-aging clinic for 4 weeks. The only effect I have felt nocturnal erections/morning wood on 3 separate occasions. Once the first day I started the therapy, once about 2 weeks later, and once last night. From everything I have read, I really thought I would be feeling a lot better (More energy, more confidence, less anxiety, better mood, etc.) by now. Is it normal to not feel anything 4 weeks into the therapy, or could it be my low SHBG, or maybe something else? The only help I'm getting from the clinic is that I need more therapies, such as Sermorelin, Glutathione, and a bunch of other things.

Some info:

35 years old.
5'8
207 lbs

I have been experiencing the symptoms of low T for most of my adult life, if not all. Symptoms are Fatigue, low sex drive, lack of motivation, anxiety, low self-confidence.

your vitamin D is super low too, you have to get that up. The SHBG is super low too. I would try just the HCG and get labs while on it to see if you stimulate aroma and SHBG.

Your morning wood on the first day had nothing to do with the test, it's not that fast. Test Cyp may take some time to build up; you should be feeling something by now. It took me almost 6 weeks to really feel it kick in. Morning wood was the first thing at about 3 weeks.

It often can take longer than 4 weeks to feel the effects.

You are taking more HCG and Arimidex than most guys. HCG isnoften dosed at 250iu twice a week and Arimidex depends on each person, but a good starting point for your TRT protocol would be .25mg every 3.5 days. You really want to be careful NOT to crash your estradiol. It is the worst feeling in the world.

For me it was very gradual. 6 -8 weeks before I really noticed a change. Be patient. LOL, I was doing the same thing you are now. Dying for quicker results. At 12 weeks things were outstanding for me.

I will add I had a tapering off after about 1 year. Did you feel that also? Bounced back so it could have been from something else.

Yeah, I'm definitely impatient.

I just had my T and Estradiol tested:

T 893 ng/dl range 249-836

Estradiol <20 range <50

Do you think having my estradiol too low could be preventing me from feeling any of the benefits?

Did you get an actual number for your E2?

Yes, low E2 is one of the worst feelings in the world. Ideally you want to be between 20-40 pg/ml.

His E2 is probably below range. Below 20 is pretty much crashed. Irritability, depression, dry joints, anxiety are pretty common side effects of low E2.

No, I didn't get an actual number. Considering my E2 was on the low side at 16.8 before I even started TRT, maybe I'm one of the ones that doesn't need an AI? Would it make sense to stop taking the anastrozole and see what happens?

I wouldn't do that. I would divide your doses at the very least and administer twice weekly with a.i. dosed E3D and then go from there. Who knows you might still lower E2 too much with such an adjustment.

What your E2 was pre-TRT has little to no impact on what it is while on TRT. You need to get an actual E2 result. What if you are st 19? What if your are at 4? You would adjust your protocol differently, right?

Can you go to Private MD - Buy Lab Tests Online and get the estradiol Sensitive blood test?

Looks like PrivateMD doesn't service MA, where I live. I think i'm going to cut my T dose to 50mg/twice per week and cut out my AI and see what happens. If I can get away without having to take an AI, I'd prefer it.

In some states you can't even order your own blood work. Massachusetts and New York are two of them. Their gun laws also both suck; Communists !

I also got my first morning wood in a long time the next day after my first shot so I think there is more to it.... It was the hardest one I had since I was a teenager and it didn't want to go down.... Loved every second of it....
