A question about labresults

Hello everyone. I just joined but I couldn't find an introductory section, so I'm just going to go ahead and post my issue. I do not know if it is in the correct subforum, if not please let me know.

I'm a 24 year old male and have been training for about 4 years now. I've never used steroids, although I plan on doing so when I reach a point where I feel that I have exhausted my natural potential.

About two weeks ago I decided to get some bloodwork done because of several issues that I am experiencing.
For a few years now, I've been having a pretty bad libido. It comes and goes, and I have no problems performing when the opportunity arises, but my actual sex drive is far from where I feel it should be.
My second issue has to do with fat gain, especially around the waist and chest. I've always had a tendency to get fat quickly, which shows itself in a distended gut and pointy manboobs. I've had this since I was 13-14 years old. I've been sub 10% bodyfat, but I always look 'soft' and my lower pecs never get defined.

So, got some bloodwork done which I will post below. I noticed that there's different measurements used, so if there's a problem I'll see if I can find conversions for them.

Hormone result lab range
LH 3.7 IU/L 1.7 - 8.6
FSH 2.3 IU/L 1.5 - 12.4
Estradiol (17-beta-estradiol) 24.2 pmol/L 99.5 - 191.6
Testosterone 13.1 nmol/L 8.64 - 29.00
Testosterone Free 0.291 nmol/L > 0.125
SHBG 24.8 nmol/L 18.3 - 54.1

My test was done early afternoon. It seems that my estrogen is pretty much nailed to the floorboards, and looking at the lab references and my age I feel like most of my other hormones should be a bunch higher aswell. I'm 5'11", currently about 220 pounds and in the process of losing some fat after an overzealous bulk. I know that getting leaner should help, but I've been lean before and my problems still existed...

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I plan on taking these results to a doctor ofcourse, just wondering about other experienced people's opinions.

EDIT: it seems that trying to format the results neatly has become a disaster.

Thank you,
TheAnimal220

did you fast before testing? why early afternoon?

I ate a protein/fat meal at breakfast, about 5 hours before. And I took the test in the afternoon (about 1 PM) because of time constraints. Self employed so I'm forced to do this stuff in between jobs.

Welcome to Ology!

Please retest between 7am-8am. Test levels are highest in the morning and an afternoon reading isn't good enough for any type of diagnosis.

Get a good nights sleep before the test.

let me get this straight , your 5'11" and 220 pounds , you carry fat around belly and chest , then you say at 10% body fat you still have 'man boobs' ? sorry that does not make sense to me , those stats and those details don't jive together with what 10%bf is or looks like. can you elaborate on this? do you consume alcohol or smoke weed ? if your always 'soft' you may carry a lot of water and edema. you may be able to fix a lot of these issues with a change in diet and lifestyle

No, what I said was that I am currently 220 pounds and cutting. I'm nowhere near 10% now. I was about 9% (4 point test, so take it with a grain of salt) at a bodyweight of about 185 pounds a little over a year ago. Legs, back and arms were shredded but the waist and lower chest weren't. And I wouldn't say that I was rocking a set of D's, but still pointy, puffy nipples and a thick pad of fat behind them.

I used to drink on the weekends, I rarely do now (been this way for 3ish years). Quit smoking 2 years ago. Diet is clean 6 days a week, potatoes, rice, veggies 2x a day, beef chicken the whole shabang. I track macros, train heavy 3x a week and do loaded carries or sled work 3x a week as well.

what do you do for work ? do you have a desk job or a manual labor job ? if you train heavy weights 3x per week as your primary workout , and you have a desk job , you may not be near active enough to achieve the look your going for. some guys and there metabolism and body type just require a lot of workload and volume to get that hard look. high volume, high frequency, moderate intensity training 6 days a week may completely transform you. with a few sessions a week of HIIT to burn off the stubborn fat.

if your lifting heavy weight now 3x per week and doing bench , squat, deadlift, rows, and resting like 3-5 mins between sets ,, well that may not be the type of training to achieve the body type you want . like i say above , may need to completely change that and go more volume and metabolite training.

I'm just throwing these things out there before we go jumping into the idea that at 24 years old you have hormone deficiencies and problems.

Privately or through healthcare system?

Unfortunately, early morning blood draws are necessary.

Makes no difference, in my country there's a thing called Own Risk which is basically a 'jar' of several hundred euros of your own money which gets exhausted before your insurance starts covering for things. Every year the insurance 'refills' it so you're back on your own dime the first couple hundred. But really, does a 4-5 hour timespan cause things to become THAT distorted? My estradiol is 1/4 of the bottom of the reference range...

Did all of that for a long time. It's how I got lean in the first place. Also, my work has me on my feet the entire day.

Getting lean isn't an issue, it's the fact that I can get lean and still have that gyno look. And even bigger of an issue is the fact that my sex drive has been missing for 2 years now.
