Abscess... Common?

There seem to be lots of talk of people who have developed an abscess.
Whats the deal for those of you who have been pining for years or those who have had an abscess.

If you have been abscess free for years what do you attribute it to? small gauge pins? multiple injection sites? sterile before and after routine ? only using gear with a great rep?

For anyone who has had an abscess what do you think caused it?

I really don't want to have to go down this road if at all avoidable.

two pins are used because the one you draw with gets dull,not to be sterile!!!!!!-anything that gets pushed in the vial with the draw pin is in the vial is the vial tainted now?-no!-think about it!-
you won't get one from using just 1 pin but the stick will hurt more from the
dullness of passing the stopper!
google how to inject or look at your sources site a lot of them have the procedure on the site-
if that pin touches ANYTHING after you draw change it!
clean vial top and injection site with alcohol!
be clean- abcess only happens if you are dirty with procedure!

i was going to say this. ive never noticed a doctor or nurse replacing the pin after drawing whatever they are injecting from a vial.

Never had one...definitely had a few scares though.

I attribute it to good gear (cuz at the end of the day if you get dirty gear your getting an abscess), good injection practice and as small pins as possible.

just in case......alcohol does'nt sterilize!-it is just a
cleaner!-I have owned a tattoo shop for 5 years believe me, just a cleaner! but it is what is best to use for injections-the only thing better is a shower ,alcohol swab and a poke-cleanest wat to get it done-
